Hi courtney2010,

I just wrote on the big day buddies topic and didn't realise you had started this topic. I'm 20th Nov too! Where are you getting married? I'm in Suffolk, on the border with Cambridgeshire and am getting married in a little village church then onto a hotel called Bedford Lodge in Newmarket for the reception.

I think I have got most things that I need for the day itself sorted like the venue, the photographer, the car, the band and also a group of saxophone players for the day which I am sooo pleased with as I'm hoping that it will be something a bit different that people will remember. Other smaller things I'm hoping to get in the Jan sale like shoes and accessories. How are you getting on with your planning? xxx

Hi Ladies

I am a 20th November girly.

We have booked the Bedford Swan Hotel, Bedford for a Civil wedding ceremony and reception.

We haven't really done too much yet apart from book the venue ceremony and some of our honeymoon (carribean cruise).

I am hoping to pick up some bits and bobs in the jan sale - I must start dress shopping soon, I have only been to 1 dress shop in august!

Hello again ladies,

Nice to know there's a few of us on the same day now. I've just been trying to sort out the honeymoon this weekend. We've pretty much decided on Thailand as I've been there once before but boyfriend hasn't and it was the most beautiful place I've ever been with lots of different places to go and things to see (plus the food is amazing!). We did the Maldives this year which we should have really saved until the honeymoon but I think both of us are more active people so, even though it was lovely, we've decided to go to somewhere with a bit more to see and do. We've decided to go to Bangkok for 3 nights, then Phuket for 3, then into the jungle in tents for 3 (with a ride on the elephants and trips to see waterfalls etc) and then finally ending up in Khao Lak on a peaceful beach for 3 nights. To make it more special we've pushed the boat out and gone for a couple of five star hotels too and upgraded to pool suites in them. Although, in saying all of this, we asked for the quote on the whole thing yesterday and she's meant to be coming back to me today but I'm a bit worried it's going to come in over budget now so may not be doing the above after all....fingers crossed!!!

I wouldn't worry too much about not going to loads of dress shops kimboswell, I only ended up going to one and they had so many different styles and types there that I had all the choice I needed and new the one I preferred instantly when I tried it on.

You've done lots more than me Courtney2010, where did you go for your wedding rings? I've been looking on the internet as I'm not sure whether I would get a better deal there than the high street?!? Also, not sure about where to get the bridesmaid dresses as I have my 3 nieces (who will be aged 11-13) and my best friend who is obviously adult so I can't really find many places that do both ranges which match each other. Also really need to start looking at flowers and invites.

Are either of you going for a winter theme or decided on your colours yet?

Don't know about you two, but I'm getting completely carried away with it all..I'll be lost when it's all over!!! xx

Hiya, I am getting married on the 20th Nov 2010!

We have book Dodmoor house, and are having a sit down meal for 90, and a celidh band in the evening.

Have my dress, flowers, photographer, band.

Just looking at Honeymoons, and think we will be booking St Lucia tonight. We did look at the Maldives, but think it will be too small and quiet for us.

I want lots of candles for our wedding.

Mrsbetobe your honeymoon sounds amazing hun, we would love to go to the Maldives but due to our budget we think we may have to delay our honeymoon to about June 2011 so abit gutted about that my dad says he will help pay for it but to much to put on him we are also considering The Exellence Rivera Maya in Mexico that looks amazing so really Im keeping my fingers crossed that we manage to do everything

I got my wedding ring from High street hun and shop called Fraser Hart got mine specially made to with my engagement ring both mine and my partners together were £750 so wasn't to bad can post pic to let you see if you want hun? As for b/m dresses Im having my sister as MOH and couzin as b/m, can't you just choose a style for adults then maybe have younger ones in something more plain and if you got to same shop for the Im sure the could match the colours. With mine they getting made from scratch so got to choose colour. Maybe just keep looking around hun :\)

Im having Raspberry Pink and White as my colour scheme was meant to be Baby Blue but after seeing my Bridemaid in the Raspberry Pink dress that was it colour scheme changed, I needed something to stand out as my dress is Baby Pink with crystals what sort of dresses are you girls going for? Mine is a princess dress something I never thought I would go for it was the first shop I went to and the first dress I tried on and I knew it was the one!!!;\)

Kim try not to worry about your dress hun you don't want to make any rash desicions so take your time and when you get THE dress you will just know its the one so shop around and enjoy it, I was looking forward to trying on dresses but only tried one so enjoy let us know how you getting on :\)

Nell St Lucia looks amazing also my h2b thinks the Maldives will be to quiet as well oh a celidh band will be good hun....what's your dress like?

Omg Im certainly going to be bored after this wedding is done as that's all I seem to do at the moment I love it really

So we all set for xmas ladies??

xx

Morning!

Wow, just had a look at all of your venues and they look lovely!

I am looking at having lots of candles for the wedding too Nell - I'd love everywhere to really sparkle and glow! Did you manage to get your honeymoon booked?? I'm still waiting on my quote...

Thanks for all the info on the rings and bridesmaids dresses Courtney...if you can manage to post a pic of your rings that would be great!

Your dress sounds fab too...isn't it funny how you go for something totally different to what you originally expect?!? I did exactly the same thing, I thought I'd go for something really traditional but ended up going for an Ian Stuart dress. I'm not sure whether you've seen them but they have a real style of their own. My one is called the Sancerre and it's ivory and honey coloured. It's strapless and the top half is really tight in a sort of crinkled silk material with buttons going all the way down the back to my thighs, then it goes out from the knees with some crinled silky roses gathered and lots of honey netting with a bit of a train. It's also got a little sparkly net shawl...kind of makes me feel like a scruffy flower fairy which sounds a bit wierd!!! You could probably find it on google images if you type it in.

I've still got a couple of things to get for Christmas but nearly there...I've had to put most of the wedding thoughts on hold for a while whilst I got all the presents and decs sorted...it's just completely crept up on me this year! Kind of nice though as I finish work on Friday until the New Year so can't wait for that...lots of time to go shopping in the sales...I'm really hoping the Jon Richard Jewellery in Debenhams goes on sale as I really want to get some of that for my wedding jewellery!!! xx

Evening Ladies ;\)

Mrsbe2b....I do love candels, but for my centrepieces Im having 20cm Martini Glasses filled with baby pink crystal gems with a pink LED light underneath to light them up...I just couldn't think of anything that wouldn't be to expensive as was going to have flowers with candels in the middle but these were priced at £35 for each table but what I've chosen is only cost £12 each and will have scattered crystals as well its the people who are doing my chair covers who are doing mine....Are you ladies having chair covers? I think they finish a room of just nice!!

Have you ladies recieved you quotes yet hope they come in at what can afford nothing more amazing than going on a dream holiday and you don't mind paying that little extra....after all its you Honeymoon ;\) well that's what I keep telling myself

Here is the photo of my engagement ring and wedding band....the wedding band is the bottom one...and also the picture of my h2bs wedding band as well...

*Pictures Removed*

Wow your dress sounds amazing do you have any pictures of your dress or any of your other stuff?? It is so weird lots of people say oh no that defo wouldn't suit me and its what they normally end up with its just really hard to picture yourself in a wedding gown but you just know when you have found the one :\)

My tree went up on saturday now the house feels all chrismassy, all cards are sent out not like me as norm Im to late to get them posted so they get them on time Do you have kids? We don't so xmas pretty quiet for us but we do have 4 dogs and a cat we fuss over

Oh I got my wedding Jewellery from a website called LJ Designs really good price, I bought the necklace from someone on here who had only just bought it from there but unfortunatley it didn't go with her dress so I bought it then went on there and got earring to match!!

Im waiting for the wedding fayre in Jan to see what sort of deal I can get on wedding cake.....and anything else left to do..Im really struggling with photographer at the moment really getting me down and starting to think I've choose wrong venue as they don't have grounds outside for pictures :\? Anyone got any ideas how I can make most of photographer?

Hope everyone doing ok and planning going well!!

Hi ladies,

Anyone got snow?!? Our Christmas party has been called off because of it !

Thanks for the pics of your rings Courtney, they're beautiful and so so different! Your prices for the flowers are brilliant, that's something I really need to start looking into. We're having chair covers too but haven't got around to pricing them up yet, I think they are between £2 and £4 a chair normally.

I've posted a pic of my dress if you want to have a look on the new thread for the dresses. I saw yours on there Courtney, it's gorgeous - love the sparkles. Just managed to get my quote through for the honeymoon and it's come in within budget so am really chuffed and going to go ahead with the booking next week when I'm off work.

Don't worry about not being loads of grounds to have photos taken outside Courtney...mines not got too much but I figure in November neither you nor your guests will fancy spending too much time outside so I just reckon decorating the inside nice will be just as good. And at least in November we won't be too dependent on the weather as we know it's not going to be brilliant anyway!!!

We haven't got kids yet either Courtney but still love Christmas :\). You'll just have to make sure you get a few stockings for your dogs:D.

If we don't speak before, I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas.

Hiya,

All your plans sound great.

My dress is Mori Lee 2105. I love the back of it. Plus I am very petitie so that train looks like it goes on for miles on me!

We are hainvg to have trellis tables at our venue because of our numbers and venue size, so for our centre pieces we were going to put a row of chruch candles of differenet sizes down the middle of the tables, and put pine cones, acorns, holly and I have these lovely leaf confetti inbetween and around the candles.

We didnt get round to bookng the Honeymoon, but fingers crossed will get it done this weekend, as we finish for Christmas today!

Presents are all bought, just going to have a huge wrapping session this evening. I have two stepsons (to be) that live with us 50/50, and a house full of pets, so plenty to get ready! I cant wait.

Oh I booked our photographer today and contacted the Venue and they have said they can have an area set-up for photos so feeling better about that, as you say mrsbetobe it won't exactly be the weather for being outside, but photographer has agreed we can go to the near by grounds and get some photos if we want so really pleased with that but that will depend on the weather!!

Happy New Year Ladies :\) Hope you all had a great xmas!!

Well we can now all say "We Getting Married This Year Woohoo

I'm now getting so excited, but also very nervous about the lil daft things as we all do, I need to chill as it's only going to get worse

Got told on Xmas Eve that I will be going into hospital for an operation this year just hoping its start of the year as you will see scar because of style of dress and don't want it done to close to the wedding either and it looking all sore and raw so I hope its soon but very nervous as it a big operation and I hate not being in control of things while in hospital I can see the Bridezilla raising her ugly head very soon :\)

Going to a wedding fayre at the end of Jan for our wedding cake hopefully we get a bargain!!

How's everyone else plans going? well I hope:\)

xx
