Hi Lovely December Ladies,
What's your theme/colour scheme?
Are you having a traditional Xmas theme or going for a Winter feel or maybe neither?
I'm going for a Winter Wonderland. Would love to share and swap ideas with any girls who are having the same theme x

Ahhhhh... that sounds lovely AlthorpBride!
My date is after Xmas (NYE) so I'm not going for a Xmas theme but still want some parts to be festive.. ie crackers as favours with handmade choccies inside, mulled wine and mini mince pies on arrival for guests.
My colours are white and silver with lots of snowflakes. Centre-pieces are going to be branches/twigs decorated with fairy-lights snowflakes and icicles. Snowflake wine glass charms for the ladies, snowflake place-card holders that sit on top of wine glasses etc.,
Just booked a sparkly led dance floor - which I'm really excited about! Same company is also supplying fairy-light star-cloths, colour painting the venue and he told me when we met him yesterday that he supplies snow machines.. woohooo!!
I've lots of gold snowflake table confetti, if any of you lovely ladies wants some just let me know x

Hi,
I'm having a Christmas theme mixed with some winter wonderland, I am hoping for lots of sparkle. I brought a dress back in March which was gold so we had planned for red and gold, but I've changed the dress now which is white with silver! So the main colour is a deep red with some silver and greens.
Having some Christmas trees and asking everyone to design a bauble and bring with them to put on a tree. Also got candlebras as centrepieces, pine cones for place names and candles as favours for the ladies. I am hoping for lots of candles in the windows with twigs, berries etc and maybe a snow machine. Just hope it isn't as wet next December as it is now!
Am hoping to have fairylights somewhere in the venue just don't know how expensive they are and how easy it'll be. Do you have to have lots of plugs around? (sounds silly i know).
How are all of your plans coming on?

I'm loving this thread!! So many ideas going round...although I think it may be confusing my vision!
Rainbowgirl321, I'm planning something similar to you I think... lots of candles and twigs and berries everywhere..more of a winter theme then a Christmas theme I think... We have gone for twig/berry wreaths for the centrepieces with a candle in the middle even though I originally wanted twigs with fairy lights in but encountered the same thought as you in terms of where am I going to plug them all in!?!?
We're going for lots of mulled wine, spices and pine cones everywhere also to mix in with the Christmas decorations that will already be up in the venue...
Misty - I like the idea of battery operated fairy lights but am worried about bulk buying costs! Also... I'm a tad concerned that you said that we should be ordering bridesmaid dresses in February...!!! Eeekkkk!!! When did you find your dress?
Oh...I feel a bit of research today then!

I know... I'm feeling very festive after reading everyone's themes!
Thanks for the advice Misty, might have to get cracking on deciding who my actual bridesmaids are!!
I haven't got my dress yet, tbh I haven't even been out to look for it yet and I've already been engaged a year! I know, I know, I need to get going on this one! Think my mum and I will be making arrangements for a host of weekends in January for the all important dress trip! I'm nervous....!!
Where did you get your bridesmaids dresses from?
I have literally been on here all day... So many ideas and useful threads going around! Pity I'm not being productive and actually doing anything about them!

Hello ladies,
hope you don't mind me gatecrashing this thread!
I am getting married on the 18th Dec this year, in 10 days!
We are having a gold and red theme with gold snowflakes, my dress is red and i have a gold shrug and bridemaids are in gold with fur shrugs.
We are having the tables decorated with candles and holly and sparkly gold snowflakes, thinking to have two small trees outside venue with lights on but not sure yet, the venue has two christmas trees in it so i am decorating them both in gold decroations, and also all the children have a gold stocking filled with nice things and also a snow globe with their names on as their placecards, having mulled wine fizz and mini mince pies after the ceremony then a roast beef dinner.
H2b was very specific that he wants a winter wedding not christmas, but I think Ive managed to sneek plenty of christmas in!
Enjoy your planning ladies x:\)

Hi everyone,
We are having a white and blue theme, a winter wonderland is what I am hoping for. Having said that We are getting married on the beach in Florida but I am having some Christmas trees decorated in our colours in our reception room.
For centrepieces we are thinking about having glass bowls/vases filled with baubles and perhaps fairy lights. Also having Christmas crackers which we plan to double up as place settings.
I have been engaged for 18 months so have so many ideas and great ideas - just hope they come together!

Hello girls!
I want red roses and a red London bus - so our theme is around that, with silver to make it christmassy. I would like strapless cranberry red dresses for the two adult bridesmaids, with pale grey fur shrugs, silver shoes, and silver sparkly hair bands. The two little ones will wear white princess dresses, with red sashes and white cardigans/fur shrugs. My fiance will wear a red waistcoat and silver cravat - and the best men and ushers the reverse (may swap that - depends on what suits him best!)
I really want the evening lit by candlelight (lights will be on, but dimmed, so people can see what they are eating!), as December 18th is just a few days away from the shortest day of the year so it will be dark for pretty much all of the reception. So for table decorations, I'm thinking of big silver candelabras, with roses in the base - or ivy wound around.
So exciting to come on here and see everyone else's ideas. Love the idea of the lottery ticket crackers by the way - but we're having 145 for dinner, so am thinking that adds quite a bit to the favour budget... So much to think about!
