Morning Ladies

Right - this is it!! Serious fat busting must begin. The scales seriously told me off this morning and if I am going to be choosing my dress soon I want to do it looking ok. I know I have 580 days until the actual wedding, but feel it is time to put the plan in action.

Is anyone interested in losing a few pounds, weighing in weekly, sharing tips etc?

Starting Weight 12st 8lbs
Target Weight 10st 8lbs

Hope someone will join me in my mission.

How tall are you both?

My advice first of all would be not to use a target weight but instead to measure yourself at certain points and set a target reduction in these measurements. For example to lose an inch each from the waist, bust and thighs.

I found when i started to exercise more my weight stayed almost the same, i lost about 2lbs but my body shape changed drastically as i toned up and i lost inches all over.

Spinning is a great calorie burner and boxing is fantastic for toning the back and upper abdominals as well as the obvious arms and shoulders. It's also good for the Pecs/chest so your bust is lifted! All good!

Also try eating small meals more often, try for four meals a day and healthy snacks throughout. This will keep your metabolism up and keep you feeling full.

I am dying to get back to the gym after my Christmas and new year break!

Good luck to us all!

I will join you all! I reached my target with Slimming World in June last year and maintained until Christmas - now I think I could have gone way overboard and gone out of it so I've got to get my head back into it before dress shopping in March!

MrsPGtoB has good advice! I found that measuring my inch loss was a lot more accurrate than my loss in lbs. I can't wait to get back to the gym too!

So even though I've only got a few lbs (well probably 5 or 6 to feel comfortable again) to lose could I please join you all for motivation?

Great advice. Thanks MrsPGtoB. I am going to go and find myself a tape measure and note down the measurements.
I am 5ft7inches, so overweight according to the government BMi thingy.
I have just completed my second workout session on my EA Active Persoanl Trainer (game for the wii H2B got me for Christmas) and am exhausted so must be good!!!

Pr1ncess-mummy I went to Slimming World previously and found it great but then a new consultant took over and it went to pot, haven't been able to motivate myself to join another group. Def join us for motivation. I know the last few lbs can be the most stubborn to get rid of.

I think I will give myself until April and see how I am doing at home and if I can persuade my other half to buy me gym membership for my birthday. I am not good at leaving the house in winter so think spring would be a good time to join after all the January joinees have given up!!!

Hey ladies!!

I will join you in my get fit mission! I am not overweight, but I need to tone up, and all my weight is collected in my waist! Once I find myself a tapemeasure I will write my current and target measurements!!
I have never been to the gym in my life and have issues with the thought of excercising in public, so the wii fit is a life saver!!

Hey MrsPGtoB, I used to go by measurements but it doesn't really mean that much to me. I like to go by weight even though you're right, you can stay the same weight but lose inches. I also go by clothes sizes so i suppose its the same thing really.

I'm gonna follow weight watchers - i dont go to the meetings but ive got the books! Definitely need motivation though and a lot more exercise than im doing, I've got lazy!

I'm 5'2 so pretty much for my height anything is overweight!!

Sparkle - good idea about the gym membership, I am lucky that my dad is a Physio at a gym so I get to go for free! I don't think I'd go otherwise, and once I'm back into the swing of it I should be ok - I'm like you though I hate going out in winter so I lose all my motivation! I do pole dancing for fitness and have a pole in my living room but even that doesn't inspire me at the moment

Emz - my weight likes to gather around my waist too so I find it really noticable! Wouldn't be so bad if it spread itself out a bit! Lol.

KC-2b, it's a good idea to go by clothes sizes, I do that too! If the trousers are getting tight then I know I've gotta behave myself a bit! Lol. Like now! All my clothes felt too small over xmas and it depresses me!

Let's hope we an all find some motivation! And now Christmas is out of the way there won't be so much temptation! (IE wine for me!!)

Spooky, spooky spooky! I am exactly the same weight and want to get down to 11stone (am 5ft . I have 538 days to go before I get married.

I really hope to lose 1.5 stone by April so I can go wedding dress shopping!! That will be the majorty and it won't matter if I loose half a stone thereafter.

I am starting tomorrow which is a Monday. I plan to eat healthier and go back to the gym (classes twice a week and gym twice a week) as I have not been for 6 weeks due to being lazy at christmas and before that too busy at work (not an excuse I promise)!

My h2b also brought me the "Biggest Looser" for the Wii for Xmas. It helps you with exercises, dietary advice and calorie counting. I plan to use this every day.

My biggest problem is snaking in the evening and this will be the hardest habit to stop.

All the best of luck girls. I shall pop back on Monday 11th to let you know how much I have lost this week.

Hey Girls

I am in serious need of motivation as well! i am getting married in 467 days and want to lose at least 2 1/2 stone! i think it must be rather spooky as i am the same weight as Bianx and Sparkle too but alittle bit shorter at 5ft 6 so i am in a more dire position than you girls!

I really need to get my arse into gear and start exercising but dont want to do too much too soon incase i burn myself out. I am starting an exercise class on thursday with a friend and hope to do two other sessions a week on my stepping machine i have at home.

I am tempted to join the gym but what with paying for a wedding and saving for a deposit on our first house, i am not sure i can feasibly justify the £40 a month membership...so i am hoping we can all motivate each other.

Unfortunately i have serious issues about my weight and i am petrified about getting a tape measure out! but i know this is a problem i have to overcome...please help me!!!!

Ok,
going to go and jump in a big hole. Tried the tape measure thing, but it was from a christmas cracker so only goes up to 66cm, and of course that wasn't nearly enough to get round bust, tummy or hips so will have to wait until I get back to school tom to find one.
H2B has just gone to Tesco for weekly shop - I promised him one final roast dinner today and then thats IT!!!! The rest of the shop is all fruit, veg and healthy meals so hopefully it should kick start some action.

Three girls at the same weight - that is motivation ladies, we can really do this together. I am going for 2/3lbs loss this week. I'll let you know next Sunday!!!

Good luck girls and GO FOR IT!!!!! xxx

Blah. I think i have to be in as well. I have to lose weight for an operation this year (breast reduction) - I'm currently a size 18 and want to be at most a 14 by the time the op is done. I have no idea how much i weigh - just that it's too much! No more cakes for me
