I know there were a few threads on here from Mallorca brides but they seem to have all disappeared so I thought I'd start a new one for all brides that are getting married or thinking about getting married in Mallorca.

If you live here like I do and can help advise other brides or if you live in the UK (or anywhere else in the world!) and want to speak to other Mallorca wedding girls then please post here!!

Congrats to all Mallorca brides and hope to see you all posting here soon!! xxx

Hi mrsC2B! just posted a reply in the other Mallorca thread! See below,
hope you are well. xx

Hi Ladies
How are we all getting on?
Had a few nightmares over the last couple of weeks when Globespan went bust and our friends and family were booked on them!

Thankfully they all got their money back but some are not sure they can afford to rebook (including the best man- Nightmare!!)

We were going to go out in March to sort out hair and make up and menu, but now there are hardly any flights so we are thinking just going a few days extra before the wedding to sort things- do you think I am totally crazy? Not sure...

Has anyone sorted hair and make up?

5 and a half months to go, Yikes!!

Looking forward to hearing your updates.

Oh sorry hun I looked and looked the other day so thought I'd just start a new one!!

Can't believe that about about Globespan, glad that everyone was compensated but what's the best man gonna do?? How much are Easyjet at the mo? And Ryanair? try skyscanner.net they check all the airlines, the best man MUST be there!!
I'd say try and come in March if you're anything like me you'll be stressing so much if you leave things till the last minute and what if you can't find anyone for hair or you don't like the trial??
Well we've left things for a while as had some stresses with work etc but we're going to see Robert Ellis next week as I've convinced H2B to get married in the church at Portals after his sister's lovely church wedding in December. As soon as we've done that and oficially set the date then I'm going to order save the dates as I want everyone to have as much notice as possible so I'll send them out in May. Been looking at flowers from blooming gorgeous gonna order samples, and have found BM dresses online at sexyher.co.uk just waiting for another FM to get her dresses and see what they're like!! xx

Hi!

I think it is a good idea to start a new thread, as we hijacked the other one from MallorcaBride, never heard about her wedding which is a shame!

Not sure about best man, just been chatting to his other half but she didn't give anything away, I think we will help them out if they really can't afford it, he has to be there!

I know what you mean, about March. The big thing is the hair and make up but I was thinking I could have a trial in the UK then decide what I wanted here and then hope the hairdresser could do it in Mallorca? The photographer said she would put me in touch with a hairdresser and make up person, been looking online to try and get as much info as I can!

Meeting Photogrpaher can wait I think, and the menu and other organising I can do over the internet, we have eaten in the hotel a few times so know what we want.. agghhh not sure!!

Had a quick look on skyscanner, thank you!

Are you going to do the legal bit in Spain as well? Do you live in Portals? How exciting, once you have set the date it will start to fly by! I ordered my flowers from blooming gorgeous, they arrive in March, I can't reccommend Laura enough she is so helpful. Good idea to see the dresses, I picked mine and gave my bridesmaids the money to go and buy them, then one of my BM to me yesterday she has bought in a size too small so that she has an incentive to loose weight, hopefully she will do it!!

I know, I was really looking forward to seeing her wedding, I'm going to see if her profile is still active!

I'd be worried about hair and make up mostly, although if you're being reccomended someone then I'd feel slightly better. As long as you give the photographer a list of what pics you want meeting them doesn't really matter much, and if you've eaten the food at the venue then you should be able to do the menus via email. Where are you having the reception again? My memory is like a sieve sometimes sorry! :\(

Skyscanner is the only website that does all the dif airlines and I get emails from a money saving website that tells me when they have sales at easyjet etc, I can give you the link if you want? It might help your other guests as well :\)

We live in Palmanova on the beach, we're going to do the legal bit in the UK as to get all the documents translated from english to spanish for the wedding then back again to change my passport etc just seemed like a waste of money! So we are going to give notice when we go back in august for my cousin's wedding and then get married at new years when we go back to visit parents!!

So glad you've ordered flowers from BG, I've heard so many good things about Laura there so will defo be ordering from her xx

Hi Ladies, long time no speak!!!

Hope you both had great Xmas & New Years? Can´t believe we are now in 2010. 9 months to do ... Eek!!

Awful about Globespan - but maybe they could get a deal with Thomson´s on a package holiday?

You both sound soooo organised and relaxed!!!

Well, I have made a little progress since we last spoke. The venue is booked - we´ve decided on Mood as the location is fantastic, and Oscar is so helpful - we have confirmed numbers (64 for sit down meal, and 80 for evening do) and paid the deposit. Dress is ordered in UK, and we are in the process of getting the birth certificates legalised as we are doing all paperwork here - we are both working full time here in Mallorca and don´t have enough holiday to sort it in UK.

Getting a bit panicked about what else we need to sort out. I think I´ve got everything written down but just have that feeling that we keep forgetting something!

I also have a sieve for a memory - what date are you getting married again?!

Hi soon2bmrsf

Don´t be too impressed - these are minimum numbers for the venue - we´ve actually invited approx 78 for the meal, and there will many more at the evening do!!

I´m actuallt counting the days now - due to go back to Uk at the end of April to try my dress - very excited - I´m like a kid with sweets, I want it all now!!!

How are your plans coming together - where are you staying, and where are your guests staying?

I work for a travel agency here in Mallorca, and the only other airline I can think of with cheaper flights is Ryanair - but you only get 15kgs luggage allowance with them, which may cause a problem for you and your guests. What about Easyjet, First Choice or Airtours?

What idea´s have you for your wedding favours - I was thinking fan´s for the ladies, and a small spirit for the men!

I'll email you with the website in a minute mrsf, every little helps as tesco say! Also will google your reception venue again to have a look!!

Jackie how are you? I do like Mood as a venue I think its a good choice! We were going to do all the legal stuff here but I've been divorced and also changed my name by deed poll some years ago so there would be extra stuff to get translated and notorised, as we can fit in getting married over in the UK with other trips we decided to do it that way, otherwise it would have been a weekend in vegas! what dress did you choose in the end??
We're going to have old-school sweets as centerpieces and they will be used as favours but I like your idea, very spanish with the fans! I was actually thinking of going back to my italian roots and giving 5 sugared almonds but no one really likes those do they! lol

Jackie I know you work at Ticket, we want to go to Hawaii on honeymoon are there any deals going at the mo?

I live in Glasgow and its only 2 inches maybe but we live on a hill and our drive is like Ice. H2b is happy taking his car but mine is a rear wheel drive and it just skids so my boss just said to stay in! My family in Manchester have had about a foot and a half!

Interested to hear what you think being in the business yourself! how lucky are you knowing a hairdresser, most of my friends are accountants!

Thanks for sending the link, there is loads of stuff on that site!
