I have always been slim and between 7 and 8 st in weight at 5' 4". Recently though I have lost quite a few pounds and weigh just under 7 st. I'm desperately tring to gain weight for my wedding in 6 months as I am paranoid about looking scrawny and underweight! Is anybody else trying to get some curves for their big day?! Would be great to chat with anyone in a similar boat x

I'm the opposite so sorry I cant help but wanted to say good luck! all the magazines etc focus on losing weight and noone ever seems to acknowledge that slim people can be unhapp with their figures too!

Good luck with your weddng hun x

Hi Hun
I gained for my wedding, I'm 5' 8" though and at 8 stone 3 I looked a bit scrawny, then My dress didn't fit so I lost half a stone the week before my wedding. I weighed 8. 6 on my wedding day, and I think I looked about right. I'll post a pic if that helps xxx

I am 5ft6 and my weight generally stays between 7stone and 7stone 4lb no matter what I eat and believe me I eat alot. Saying that if i get very stressed and the weight drops off quickly and I can go below 7 stone which is just abit scary at my height. I do look very small last year I had to go the family planning clinic to get the morning after pill and the lady there was surpised to hear I have had a regular peroid since teens actually she was shocked to hear I had a peroid at all.

I did have a deititain that managed to get me up to 7stone 10lb's heaviest i have ever been but then my gran got sick and died and I lost it all again havent been able to put it back on since then.

When I was there she told me to eat loads of potatoes, bread, pasta, cheese and mayo all very fatty foods.

Thanks for your replies.

MrsPolish - we look like we have very similar builds looking at your avatar pic? Stress can definitely make it difficult to gain.
I have seen a dietitian too recently (doctors orders), due to suffering from IBS/acid and struggling to eat fatty foods. At the moment I am trying to eat 3 meals plus snacks in between but have not put on any weight yet. Its a nightmare as I know I have been heavier in the past!
I am eating as many healthy fats as I can such as avocado, salmon, nuts and seeds. I eat lots of porridge and add in milk powder and plenty of nuts and dried fruits. Of course i eat the highest cal snacks too. Well I hope I can at least get past 7 st in the next few months, then I will be happy

Embrace your petite figure!! If you eat normally and are really just slim then so what? Why not just enjoy it and buy clothes that make the most of your petiteness?

hey, I'm the same. I put some weight on before the wedding but becareful you don't put too much on so you can't fit in your wedding dress.

It sounds like you have a good diet plan going, just make sure you do eat three times a day (I always seem to miss lunch and I know that is affecting my weight now...I seem to gain some then lose it straight off).
If you do a lot of exercises they say to make sure you eat more Cals a day. Toning/gaining muscles helps with adding a little weight

I've been having Complan in between meals to put some weight on - hoping it'll have an affect over the next couple of months x

Well just an update - I've gained a couple of pounds since changing my diet. That nut butter is damn good stuff lol. People are already noticing that I look healthier which is great for me x

Thanks Mrs Hollis, I was tested for that actually when I was having IBS trouble, but it came back negative.

Hey all. I use to worry about weight all the time as im 5ft 7 and natually slim...I generally eat whatever I want and NEVER gain anything! Cant say I really exercise! lol.
I use to be just under 8 st and Ive found if you dont worry about what you look like or what others think, the weight slowly creeps on! Ive stopped worrying and stressing over it and found its the best cure...Im now 8st 7 and very happy! Il be extremely happy if I can gain another stone though...
Start dress shopping in August and im really looking forward to it!!! Its not worth stressing over.
