hi i got married there in sept 2008 and it is the most beautiful hotel and gardens i have ever seen (yes i am biased). when i was planning the wedding i had loads of brochures to look through and had said to hubbie right at the start, by only seeing the pictures thats where i want to get married. the staff were fantastic. and we got some amazing pictures in the grounds. we didnt have a big wedding so i felt it was cosy and intimate as its not a huge space to fill. the honeymoon room was amazing. the bath was so huge i spent an hour running it!!!!

you will have an amazing day, i really wish i could do it all over again. the day will pass so fast. and my 1 piece of advice is after the ceromony and the pictures take your brand new hubbie up to your room and spend some quiet time together. all me and hubbie could do at this point was giggle like little kids, saying i cant believe we're married!!! was a great memory to have.

good luck x

Hi, its great to hear good reports about the Piersland. I was the same when I looked it up on the web I just knew it was the place I wanted to get married and when we went to see it I just loved the place. Was worried about the size as im having about 80 for the meal but there capacity is 94 for meal so im sure it will be ok hopefully lol. Thanks for advice alot of brides say that use should make sure use take some time out to urselves. Im so excited its getting so close now. If you have any pics it would be great to see them.

Thanks
Linsey

Hi,

I'm a Piersland bride. We get married there on 20 June 2010 - just 159 days to go!!

I can't wait, I was the same - as soon as I walked in I knew it was the place and since then I've heard only good things about it.

How's your planning going?

Thanks for the pics there great its getting me even more excited now.

Hey June bride planning going well although still to get the bridesmaid dresses ordered, its took me so long to decide between 2 dresses which are completely different colours. Can I ask how many your having for the meal and extra at night? Im slightly worrying about my numbers but they do weddings all the time so im sure it will be ok. Hows your planning coming along?

Things are going well. Have most things booked/ordered (celebrant, photographer, band, cake, flowers, dress). Got three flower girl/junior BM dresses half price in Next sale and going down to Exeter next month to look for MOH's dress (she lives there).

We're only planning to have 80 all the way through (for budget and because neither of like the idea of eveing guests) but the list is looking a little long just now!! Yikes. We'll need to do some chopping!

I think 80 will be fine in there. I know there can be 94 at dinner but I think that would feel a little tight.

Geez a Gonk - can I ask about your floral arch? I've not been sure about what to do decoration wise in the conservatory. I like the your arch but I fear it may be really expensive from a florist. If it's not too cheeky can I ask roughly how much it cost? I've had a wee look online and found a company in Cumbria that hires ones with silk flowers for just £30 - but only in Cumbria!

Hi,

I'm getting married at Piersland on 29th May 2010. We were initially planning on getting married abroad but went to a wedding show at Piersland and we changed our minds and booked it there and then!!!

Turns out thet one of the girls I work with has booked it for her wedding in October too without knowing that I had booked it

We are having 60 during the day because I want to have the round tables (although because of May wedding need to pay min numbers of 70.boo)
At night we will prob have another 20-30.
Some peeps from my work have been to wedding and they say at night there was well over 100 guests and it didn't feel cramped.

Has anyone had any thoughts about decoration or anyone else having the tound tables?
I can't decide what to do for centre pieces and need to vist the florist this month.

Geez a gonk do you have any more pictures that you wouldn't mind posting

Hi,

We're on long tables too and having goldfish bowls with lilac roses and beargrass. I'm agree Lindsey - I don't want the tables too cluttered either and there's enough decor in the room for it not to look bare. We've booked Bijou too. My mum and I went to see Suzanne and really liked her and hpw helpful and generous she was with her time. We also popped into another one that Piersland recommended BUT I was massively unimpressed - they wanted me to ay £50 just to secure the date saying they wouldn't do a consultation or give a quote until three months before!!! I wouldn't hand anyone else money without an idea of what they were going to do for me!!

What are you doing about decor in the ceremony room? Are you having any arrangements?

Meant to say - we've booked a band. Two guys on guitars called Deville - through Hireaband.
