...until I loose a few pounds?

Christmas was a bit indulgent to say the least and the gym isn't going too well. Should I just bite the bullet and go anyway? The problem is when my weight changes its not just my dress size but my relative proportions that change. hmmm, what do you think?

Hi Cha-cha I went in October. I really didnt want to as im not happy with my size but followed what my mum and sister suggested just to get an idea. fell in love with my dress and oreder it. The lovely lady in the shop said i dont have to order the size until June so trying so hard to loose those inches for then. Its fun just going and trying some on to get an idea about what you like. Let us know what you decide.

I'm doing the same!

People keep saying to go and look now and order later but I know that my size now will affect the style of dress I try on, so I want to be a bit slimmer before I even look.

Therefore I'm going to book appointments for April, which gives me 12 weeks to lose a few lbs/stones and feel confident when I try on THE DRESS!

Good luck :\)

Looks like we are all doing the same! I've also put off going to look at dresses to try and shed the Xmas excess - appointments are now booked for 5th March so off to the gym I go!!!!!

I looked at dresses in one shop the other day but can't go again til the end of Feb if I go in the week, a lot easier when just you in a bridal shop. Though I won't order it until end of April the shop the other day said to allow 6 months for ordering and alterations so really have til May but don't want to leave until then. But I was three different sizes when she measured me so want to try and shift some more from my lower half, I know I am classic pear.

Also be aware a lot of the dress sizes come up as small sizes, I was trying on dresses in sizes bigger than I have ever been and they were fitting, just think, you are the only one to know the size.

Why are wedding dresses like this do you think? I would have thought that they would make the sizes smaller than you normally are to make you feel good!

I wonder if it's because wedding gowns are made in traditional sizes, whereas the other shops are a bit economical with the truth and have made their sizes bigger!

I went for a quick look and try on over the weekend and I had the same problem. I am a good size 14 and wish to be smaller in time for the wedding but I was trying size 12 & 14's on and they would go no where near me. its not good as it makes you feel allot bigger than you are and a bit fed up to say the least. I would be lovely to actually try a dress on that said it was a 14 and fitted like a 14
