Hi Karen,
First of all have you lost anything yet?
If so then MEGA!!! At least you know that you can!!!
If not or to continue losing weight, right down three things that you know you should or shouldn't be doing e.g. not drinking as much wine or drinking more water and stick to them.
Doing that little bit extra will help you along the way.
Are you doing any classes at the gym, great way to be motivated, meet new friends and have fun...no point in doing it if you don't enjoy it!!!

Good luck. X

Hi Stuart.

I lost 6Ib in my first week then 2Ib in my second week. I don't drink alcohol anyway so that doesn't really matter. I go to the gym with my partner but don't really know the best things to be doing!!
Thanks
Karen

Hi Stuart,

I'm looking to lose a stone and generally tone up, could you please recommend some exercises that would target my arms and stomach as I really struggle with these.

Many thanks

Hiya,

Im on a low fat diet at the monemt. Got a 2 week diet plan off "My big fat diet show" its for 1200 cal per day. It says only to do this for 2 weeks but so far i have lost 3lb each week so i thinking of sticking to it for a while. Is that ok or not?

It has defo opened up my eyes to how much rubbish i eat. Im not eating loads of fruit and drinking plenty of water.

Hi Stuart,

My wedding is coming up in 7 weeks (aaaaagghh!!), and whilst I am not really overweight for my height, I am 34 years old, and could do with a bit of a lift and toning in certain places. Whilst I'd love to do some exercise that would both tone up and energise me (I really need a lot of energy at the moment as am hectic with work, looking after my toddler and planning my wedding), I don't want to lose weight, as the first place I seem to lose it is my face and upper body, which won't look good with my dress as it's strapless! Have you any recommendations on a good, not too time consuming way for me to tone up over the next few weeks? I'd be really interested.

Thanks so much,

Di

Great!!!
Try the classes, or/and try some of the machines in and around the gym. Like the treadmill, remember a uphill walk can be taxing....start of gently and progress to a level that is outside of your comfort zone.
I could give you a list of exercises but you'd be better asking someone in the gym to show you so they are able to correct your potential mistakes.
Ask for advice, that's what they're there for.
Say that you're looking for an all over body weight loss program...it's why you pay your membership.
I'm glad you're going with your partner as that is brilliant motivation.
As for the alcohol, it was just an example...i'm sure you can think....less crisps, more veg, smaller portion sizes etc...
Hope this helps. X

Hi Lucy,
To loose weight and tone up you need to be exercising regularly building muscle and burning fat. So a good all round program is recommended.
Jump on a rower/treadmill/bike etc (after a warm up) for between 5-10 mins and then do some weight bearing exercises, like the press up (triceps, chest, abs), then squats ( Upper legs and butt) and then some bent over rows with dumbells ( back and biceps) then jump on another cardio machine for another 5-10 mins.
This mix WILL burn fat and tone up the arms and stomach....PROMISE!!!!!
Good luck. X

Hi Nic,
I'm glad you're realising how bad your food intake can be!!! Well done so far.
The reason it's for 2 weeks is to give your body a shock by dropping down to 1200cals. After that you should slightly increase it otherwise you'll feel a lack of energy. You need to follow the program and increase your intake as per the course.
It's designed with you and your body in mind....HONEST.
1200 cals isn't much, your brain alone requires 600 cals a day.
Good luck!!! X

Hey Di,
Energy = food, so if you exercise you must increase your GOOD food intake to be able to do the workout or day to day chores.
Do something you enjoy as you will not only feel better, you'll look better as you'll be happier for it, less stressed etc.
I'd do something with friends, that way you can chat about your wedding 'worries', maybe off load some and exercise at the same time.
I'd suggest meeting in the park and doing some light jogging, brisk walking, you could always take your wee one too. 20 mins is better than nothing at all.
Remember to eat a good snack after your session as the body needs the goodness to replenish it's stores.
Good luck!
