Hello ladies,

I was wondering if you could help me!

I will be getting married this year and were originally looking to get married at 15:30 but after speaking with our caterer, we are trying to reschedule for noon. Have any other brides had a wedding around 15:30? If so, what expereinces did you have in terms of timing? Did you have enough time or was it all rush rush at the end? We will be having an English wedding.

My only query is that the longer you have people, the more you have to feed them. Did you have to do this?

Our caterer has suggested having desserts but we thought cake and plenty of drinks would keep people pleased! In addition, we really don't want to see any food going to waste (who does?! hehe)

Also, we're looking to have 260 guests (including suppliers) to feed. Have any of you had big numbers and what did you pay/have you been quoted for feeding this many people?

I appreciate all your comments!

Hello there, i'm quite new to this forum but will try and help out wherever I can...my wedding is an afternoon one aswell just to prevent people feeling hungry after having their first meals much earlier in the day - key is to have canapes to supplement...if you stick with 3.30 and have canapes served as soon as the service is done whilst you take fotos - ppl are more likely to feel satisfied after the main meal which eliminates the prob of feeling hungry later!

I would say for 260 people you will be looking at around £5000..my numbers are 300 and we were quoted more but the packages is def worth it and we def won't be having any hungry guests..also remember that some ppl that will charge less will prob offer shoddy services so bear that in mind...

Hope I have helped you out here and if you need any vendor details let me know...x

Hello

Our wedding was originally scheduled for 3pm (church wedding) but we have moved it to 1pm now. Our caterers suggested this, but I'm fine with that it was just the time it would take from the church to the venue and I don't want to be rushed on the day. We are haveing canapes, 3 course meal and a cheese board and mini patties later on.

Oh that should be fine then Tanti!! Wishing you a great day!! It will be FAB!

nicnics - My caterer is african, but he may be able to do some caribbean stuff - 0798414255.

Before i decided on my caterer i had one caribbean guy who would have done it - Mwah Catering and they specialise in caribbeans..have a look at their website if you want but I would always recommend a tasting session with any caterer!! Mwah Catering - 01245328876..all the best with your search!!!

Thanks Ojay, great day to you too.

Nics, I'm using Burrells, Google them they have a website with contact details.

1. I'm using them for 2 reasons I've been to other weddings where they have catered and its been very professional with tasty food. So they were already at the top of my list.

2. The other caterers I contacted were hit and miss with getting back to me and following things through. That always gets a red mark from me!
