Hiya mummy22,
Firstly, love your dress...a friend of a friend got married in the same dress recently and I loved nosing at her fbook pics!
I would say that the silk rose is defo the way to go for all day, it will really fit in with the style of the day and if i'm honest just the earrings, maybe a tennis braclet and no necklace....I really think less is more when it comes to wedding jewels. xxx

Hi... Have been lurking for quite a while, but this is my first ever post. Had to post as as you can see from my avatar I'm torn between either this dress or having a bespoke one made... Do you have any pics of you wearing the dress? It's so hard to imagine it on a 'real' bride...
It seems like you're going for a very similar style of wedding to me...the only way I can explain it to people is 'grown-up vintage'! Have to say I agree with everyone else - love the idea of the silk flower in your hair - think that's what I'll be doing. What did you say you're doing with the sash...the ads are covering it....

Thanks girls- sorry I forgot all about the damn ads!!Grrrr!
Expatbridetobe do you live aboard too?I cant see your avatar- maybe its my computer??I only tried on 5 dresses and this was it!!!!Have you tried it on?I'm not having the sash/corsage!Am almost sure I am going for just the silk flower in my half up half down hair for the ceremony and then put it in the side chignon for the reception.Less is def more with this dress!!
When are you getting married? What are your 'colours'?xxx

Sorry, don't know what happened to avatar and on phone now so can't even try and put it back up...but it was basically the top picture on this thread! I've tried it imams it is definitely the closest to 'the one' so far. But as one of my bridesmaids pointed out, I only really loved it when te sash was put on - which makes me worry I only love it for the sash! The same day I went to a designer who basically took all my favourite pieces from the dresses I'd tried on and designed me a dress, including sash/corsages made from vintage silk. So that is really the sensible option BUT I have no imagination and really can't quite picture what the bespoke dress would look like, and I hate that I won't know what my dress looks like until it's too late!
Yes we live overseas - in St Petersburg, Russia. What about you? Where are you? I'm struggling with trying to arrange everything from here, and it means that whenever we come back to the uk we literally don't stop! Coming back next week for 4 days and have 5 dress appointments, seeing the photographer, meeting the jeweller to design the rings, visiting the venue twice, and seeing three sets of parents....stresss!
The colours I'm not 100% decided on yet, but pretty sure they will be gunmetal grey (matching the sash) with a sort of dark dusky pink and 'dirty' sage green (my bridesmaid burst out laughing when I described it like that!)... Getting married in the Cotswolds in november so I want the colours to be warm rather than summery. What colours are you going for? Xxx

Hmmmm hard one!It is really hard to know but I'm like you- couldnt just wait and see just before the day incase it wasnt what I wanted!Did you try on the ivory corsage too?I didnt diskike them- they are gorgeous but they swamped me a little as I'm only small! And everytime I have been in with a different bridesmaid they all said the same haha!
We're in Spain so not so far!And we are getting married here but as all our family & friends are in the UK I have to fly back and forth too!We are going back next week too how funny!Wow the Cotswolds in November-beautiful!
Your colours are very vintage! And very similar to mine haha!Mine are ivory, dusty pink and light gold- romantic vintage! But my BM's are in indigo as a complete contrast.
I'm still umming & ooohing over a veil but need to try on the dress again next week first! Its hard not being able to go in as and when i want to!I have pics but in the sample- once mine is in I'll take some and email them to you if you like?x

Yes please do email the pics! I actually think this is one of very few dresses that actually looks really good on the model, so I'm worried I'm being won over by that and not what it actually looks like on me!
Tried on both sashes, and totally love both - was considering wearing the ivory one for the day and the grey one for the evening...but actually don't think that would work because of the colour scheme. Have to say though I am a bit worried now as i'm quite small too so maybe it overpowers me too - will ask my bridesmaids for honest opinios on thursday!
Your colours sound lovely...we'll have to keep in touch and swap ideas - although a gorgeous hacienda in Spain is going to be very different from mine I think!
Re your original question I think you're right - less is definitely more with this dress, so a long veil might be too much, and too much jewellery will just take away from the beautiful dress. Are you having the neckline altered if you're having it strapless? When I asked in the boutique about that, they said they'd have to change the neckline as it wouldn't work as a strapless dress?

I can see your avatar now!Aaaaaah my dress!!!Gets me all excited haha!Yes def up for keeping in touch and swapping ideas!
No I'm not having the neckline changed- they said it wasnt a problem at all- hmmmmm hope they were right! You know what I think it might be- strapless with the corsage looks a little heavy on my frame- but with the straps it probably wouldnt- they elongate your body. I'm going to have to try it on again too just to make sure I DONT want it!
Have you got much to do planning wise?I was going to post some of my inspiration boards on the BBB forum- you can see what I've done so far!x

Oh yes that could be it - the straps probably make quite a difference. Will definitely try it without the straps when I go this week,
Not really got far at all in the planning. I'm hoping a lot of it will come together this week once we've met with a lot of the people. Would be GREAT if you could post some of your inspiration boards for me to look at...feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all at the moment, and am actually glad the wedding is 9 months away as feel like I will never have enough time to get it all sorted!
