Something other than cake boxes...

I've been looking online at cake boxes for when the wedding cake is cut up and handed out to the guests, but i'm not to keen on them and i'm trying to find something other than cake boxes but don't know what?

Has ayone else got any ideas what we could use instead of the boxes that are reasonably priced? I just thought it would be nice to try something different.

Our wedding favour gifts are inside organza bags with butterfly print on them and i did think about using some of them, but decided against it as it could get messy with them being draw string bags and abit dinky!

How about using cellphane bags and have ribbons made up to the right size with a little tag/decoration that just needs tying around when the cakes in there.

You can get loads of cellophane bags on ebay too.

I use them regularly for individual cupcakes and they look great with a tag thats decorated and a bit of organza ribbon!

You might want to add a small piece of food quality card to rest the cake on to make it easier for your caterer to slide it into the bag though...

Thanks for your idea, I have a thing about celophane tho, the squeaky noise it makes when being opened/wrapped! It goes through me like cotton wool on teeth bleh

I have thought about paper bags, if i stamp our wedding motif (butterfly) on them and wrap the slice in a napkin then put it in the bag, cost effective and easy, what do you think? xox
