Hen Idea help in North Northumberland

Hi ladies,
Is it just me or is it difficult to think of hen ideas in Northumberland? What is everyone else doing? If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

im getting married at northumberland! i was thinking of going to blackpool for a night i have found a devere hotel called 'hereons rech' which looks nice, got a spa so we could have a pamper day and then a tacky night out! or i might even just go to newcastle, round the gate and then to blu bambu - where i met h2b! ha x

There are a few things you could do, there are some fab spas up in Northumberland, there is a place in Berwick where you can go quad biking, paint your own vases and have cake during the day.....you could go for a nice meal in one of the little towns up there and hit a few of the bars...

Was there anything you had in mind or anything that you fancied doing? x

Heeny i used to live for blu bambu when i was at uni - wed nights were the best!!! ha and then pop in to munchies for a pizza! good times ha, its where i met h2b as well - got how tacky?! ha.

thats why i thought it would be nice to go back, whenever the girls go out now they only go to what i would call 'posh' places ie places that dont sell blu wkd!! so we never get to go anymore! one last big night out there would make me very happy! ha xx

I used to go too hun ha ha, it was awesome cheese and we got VIP passes...if you could be a VIP in there ha ha......it was actually the first club I took my lil brother too as well, I will never forget his face when the dancers came on wearing next to nothing, bless him, he never looked back after that!! x

Where are you getting married in Northumberland? Im getting married at Matfen Hall.

My h2b had our first kiss in Baja beach club!! (when it was cool to go there 7 years ago) haha

im getting married at matfen hall too! hurrah - there's not many of us around, well so far just me...and you! ha i commented on another thread the other day and someone mentioned they were getting married there - was that you? it was about photographers in the north east.

ha how could you be a VIP in blu bambu?! ha KPD whats worse - blu bambu or baja?! hmmmmm thats a toughie! lol xxx

Are you getting married on the 4th December? have you planned your honeymoon?

I am going to a friends wedding reception at Matfen in March so will let you know what it is like.

Hurrah - matfen hall december brides! ha i was going to have paciffic but we went with someone else - cant remember his name, but he's on the supplers list for matfen i loved the way he had the pictures laid out.

not planned the honeymoon yet, have you? i'm not sure where to go yet we keep changing our minds! what date are you getting married?

ohh yes def let me know what its like! im going up next week for a look round to see how i can decorate the room for the evening reception!

We are getting married on the 22nd! I desperatley wanted to get married in December and wouldnt normally have had a mid week wedding but spoke to friends and family who said they are all off then anyway as it is so close to xmas!

Im also deciding on decoration for the evening. Our photographer has recommended soft uplighting in the corners of the room which gives it a kind of swanky bar look! Sounds terrible like that but I have seen pictures and it looks lovely. Apart from that I think im going to get battery operated fairy lights to wrap around the pillars.

I really want to know whether the mantlepieces will already have the xmas garlands on them. Some people I have asked have said yes and others have said no!!

Who are you having as your florist?

We are going to Mexico for our honeymoon on new years day!

ohh fab!!!! how exciting, i would love to go to hawaii! at first we were going to new york, but decided we want to go somewhere warm, also on the list is the maldives and barbados! we have never been anywhere like that before, we normally hire a cottage in the lakes and talk the dog! ha so it will be completely different.

im there on wednesday morning next week with someone frome toast your event - Nicole is meeting us, so i can ask about that when im there is you want? i wanted to go up this christmas to have a look and see what xmassy decorations were there, but didnt get out because of the snow, so wish i had though.

im haveing Katherens florset, they are just next to st jame's park, they were at a wedding fare at matfen and they were lovely, im hireing the candelabras off them for the tables.

i started off by wanting fairly lights but then i realised one of the wedding party would have to do it! so im meeting this lady to see what she can suggest, she has sent me pictures of crystals hanging off the wall which i like the look of! if its too expensive then we'll go with the fairy lights though.

the 22nd will be fine as its in the xmas hols isnt it? so like you say most people will be off already and your letting them know early enough so they can book the time!

im all excited, not just another matfen hall bride - but a december bride aswell! hehe xxx

I know!! My best friends have already volunteered themselves for decorating xmas trees and putting up lights on the morning of the wedding!

To be honest I wouldnt mind doing it myself because we arent getting married until three in the afternoon and Im trying to stay quite chilled out about the whole thing!
We have been dealing with Lee who is brilliant and my friend Victoria has just started to work in weddings there too so I can get all the inside info! (not that there is any!)

No, not really, I just wanted to do something interesting and fun. Where is the place in Berwick as I am really close to Berwick so that might be an idea?
