Hi all

I had my heart set on Sherbooke Castle Hotel for my wedding night but its fully booked. We are gettin married on southside (also live there), and we both work in the city centre. Just dont fancy coming into the city on my wedding night so looking for a nice decent hotel in south side or further out in renfrewshire/lanarkshire. Even a country pub type place with room would be nice I think.

Any ideas anyone? Where is everyone else staying? Failing finding something outwith city I am comsidering Abode, St Judes, Hotel Du Vin, Radisson SAS...

In Renfrewshire you have Mar Hall at Bishopton or Gleddoch House at Langbank. The latter might be a bit of a trek from the Southside mind you. In Lanarkshire there is the Bothwell Bridge or the New Lanark Mill Hotel (again a bit of a trek but nice).

Hotel Du Vin would be lovely as it's not quite city centre. Expensive though.

We're getting married at Malmaison so staying there. We're also having a night away at Airth Castle, in one of their four poster rooms, after the wedding. We don't go on honeymoon until April so that was a wee treat to ourselves with the money in our Wedding pot! When is your big day?

It's perfect for a winter wedding, and good for our numbers. I also find it amusing I am getting married in a bar!

12 weeks will fly by.

Hi

We're staying at Dakota at Eurocentral, its just off M8 at Holytown, its absolutely stunning, they have a website although we went to see the rooms in person as the website didn't do it justice. :\)

There is a new hotel that has opened up in carmunock, we had a brief nosey as a potential venue but it was too small. We both thought it would make a lovely weekend away hotel if we didn't already live in glasgow. It has a small intimate residents bar and you feel like you are in the middle of the countryside.

Thanks for all your suggestions...

Crutherland EK is between £85 and £115
No 10 Queens Park is £80 (literally 2 mins walk from our house hahaha!)
Hotel Du Vin is £140 for the cheapest room
Eglinton Arms Eaglesham, £60
Carnbooth House Carmunnock, £250!
Dalmeny Park £175 cheapest room
Orchard Park Giffnock, £75

How can hotels vary so vastly!!
