Subject: Invitation question(s)!
Morning all my lovely Oct brides!

I was wondering if you all would be able to help me, i am in the process of finding/ordering invitations the wedding (22nd) and was wondering how far along with you're invitation ordering have you got? / when are you planning on sending you're invites out?

I have found one company which i am thinking of ordering my invitations from (i have looked at so many - very fussy!) but they are from America so stressing a little bit over this, for no particular reason but just to stress! And because of this Mum has told me i need to get them ordered soon incase there are any delivery problems/leave time at the printers (quote 4 weeks from order).

I am hoping to order 50 day invites, 50 evening invites, 10 table numbers, place settings for 90, 50 menu cards and 50 order of service leaflets for the church and its working out at £400 incl delivery from the states, is this reasonable? The invites themselves are thermology inked (raised). My parents are paying for the wedding and they have pretty much said whatever i want within consideration (i find it hard spending other people's money as it is) and just wondering if you all though this was reasonable?

Well done if you've managed to read all my ramble and understand it I think monday morning stress as hit me!! xx

Hello again!! Well, you know where mine came from but I think that is very reasonable - just our invites - we ordered 70 (and they came from the UK not abroad) came to £380!! So, sounds like you got a good deal. What do te stationers say the delivery time is? I'm sure it will be fine from the USA - it's not like they'll be coming from a third world country.

Well thats made me feel alot better, thank you!

They say that once ordered it will take up to 4 weeks and then the extra few days to get it shipped over, which i think will leave me more than enough time.

mrspegler2b good luck with making you're invites, would look to see them once they are finished!

23october10 the company is called whiteasile, Rebecca who i've spoken to/owner is really helpful and quick to reply to any questions!

xx

Hello.....

Yay 22nd is going to be a brilliant day for us.

We ordered our inviations and everything that goes with it on Saturday from a place in Nottingham called PDA Card and Craft. www.pdacardandcraft.co.uk

They were totally fantastic and very helpful and so much choice. I have been looking for reasonably priced envelopments and they came up trumps! For 100 of each of printed reply cards, directions, accomodation cards and envelopments it will £120, card, printing the whole tooty works. The actual invitations we are making ourselves and then sticking them into the envelopments or pocketfolds.

I would defo give them a call before you order from anywhere and they have told me a turnaround of a week.

Feeling rather excited as have just had another 'Yes' - hoping we're on a roll now!! How's your planning going - have you been surfing the net for BM dresses ready for Saturday?

Allyson that is amazing news! How many are you up to now?

I'm good, I have been having a good look around (probably too much considering i should be working!) and found a few that i like, fingers crossed they like they like them too!

I am thinking about sending my invites out in May time, give them plently of time to plan as mine is on a friday, people will need to take time off work!

Which ones are you favourite, Amanda? I'm keeping a close eye on Coast at the moment for their new summer wear as I want something both BM's will want to wear again. I'm having a bad time wit my BM's at the mo - have sent a few emails with dress ideas over the last 3 or 4 months and suggested at odd times to meet up for lunch and look at a few dresses and I'm getting absolutely zilch response!! Am really fed up - at this rate they'll be sacked as bridesmaids - I chose them because I thought they'd enter into the whole fun of it all. I've been so careful not to be in their faces and constantly talking about the wedding but I just feel really let down at the moment. I know it's not so exciting for them but a little bit of interest would be nice!!! Soz about the lengthy moan - feel better now I've got that off my chest!

Hi Mrs SBM2B - I'm getting married in SA at the end of Oct so I sent my invites out ages ago at the beginning of Nov to give veryone loads of notice - we gave an RSVP date of 28 Feb so I'm eagerly awaiting the post every day. We're up to 25 now I think - so only 5 more to go to reach the minimum number for the venue - fingers crossed!!!!

I'm liking the Alfred Aneglo range at the moment, im hoping one of the shops ive booked them into will have a sample in an aubergine colour to make sure i like it.

Sorry to hear about you're bridesmaids, sound a complete nightmare! I would give them a more than subtle nudge to get their arses in gear, especially as they will be wearing the dresses! Have you thought about emailing throught a complete horror of a dress and telling them they are wearing that to get them speaking up?... mean i know but could get a response You will get 5 more no problem im sure of it! Have you got anymore family members left to reply yet?

Morning!! We have one more family member to reply and a couple of good friends which we are hopeful will come - if they all say yes we'll have reached our target.

Alfred Angelo dresses are lovely. Have you looked at the JLM and Alvina Valenta ranges? One of them (JLM I think) had a beautiful aubergine full length one shoulder dress in their new collection. Have you decided on length? I've been thinking long all the way but am beginning to think short might be better - certainly cheaper - and will be a nice contrast to my dress x x
