No engagement ring for up to 3 weeks! :(

Sorry for bombarding the forum with my woes!

I've had to take my engagement ring in for repairs (diamond is loose in the setting) and they say it could take up to three weeks...!

I feel naked with out it :\(

Aw hun, poor you, i'd hate that too! Do you have another ring that fits that finger? I know it wouldn't be the same but you might feel a bit less naked?! xxx

Aww I know how you feel, it's awful isn't it??
I dropped mine off to be replated on Saturday and now I feel naked without it - atleast its only two weeks fot me.
It'll soon be back and on your finger

I know - it's horrible!

My mum has given me the ring my dad gave her on their 5th wedding anniversairy which fits perfectly, so I don't feel toooo naked!

Aw I know how you feel girls, I work offshore & were not allowed to wear jewellery at all so for 2 weeks of the month I can't wear my gorgeous ring! It's heartbreaking! Xx

Hi ladies...I know how you feel, I had to put my e ring into be sorted as I knocked the diamond....now married I fell over 2 weeks ago and have had to take my e ring and wedding ring off till my fingers heal and I can get them back on...it feels so strange not having anything on....I went out with girl friends at the weekend and got chatted up as he thought I was single!!!!! was nice!!!! but can't wait to get them back on again.....

Mine too is in for repair as my diamond is loose!! Mine should only take a week they told me!!
Has your diamond come loose before? As I have been engaged 2 years and its the 2nd time I have had to have it done!! x

I know how you feel - this happened to me. The diamond came loose and I lost it somewhere in a field during a camping trip! We have been engaged a long time...6 years... so it felt really strange having a naked finger - it feels good when you get to put it back on again though!

101010B2B, my diamonds not come loose before. the lady in the shop was shocked that it had after just 15 months of me having it! I just hope it comes back soon....
I'm glad I'm not the only one missing their rings!

I got my ring back but now just seen its lose again!!!! Not happy so going back tomorrow now, as its 3rd time in 2 years and only got it back a week ago!! gggrrrrrr and I had to pay to have it repaired is that right?? Did you pay for repair??
Having taster night wed at my venue and I will not have my ring on!! Donna x

Hi Donna, Ahh no that's rubbish! Loose again?!?! That's crazy - did they actually do anything to it when you took it in the first time??!
I really don't think you should have paid for the repair... when we first got mine it had to be re-sized which didn't have to pay for, they then made a mistake with it and the band was weak which they repaired and didn't charge us...
this time they said we would have to pay/claim on insurance but when i kicked off about it to the manager there, they are replacing the band and keeping the diamond free of charge as they admit that it was their fault... damn right is what i say - the diamond should not be getting loose in such a short time! I think you should check that with the manger of the store...

I took ring back and they said as it has 4 claws the diamond is going to spin round its when is moves side to side we need to worry so I didnt leave it with them. We have ordered our wedding rings else where so going to check with them about my engagement ring, see if they think it should spin or not.

Going taster night tonight yaahhh and with my ring!!! I had forgotten about wine tasting too good idea!! lol Donna x

Let me get this right, your ring has 4 claws and they said that because of this it should spin round the setting?? Did it move when you first got it?
Mine has 4 claws and is a round diamon and doesn't (and shouldn't) spin round, that is one of the reasons I took it in, because it was loose and I didn't want to lose it!
Def check with your other jewlers, as that sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Ooo! Have fun at the tasting and at least you have your ring! Gotta taste the wine...! Remind me, where are you getting married? xx

It has 4 claws and is a round diamond.

Taster was fab so excited now, think it has finally hit me that we are getting married lol starting to feel real atlast.
