ok ladies, so I've found getting the exact shades I wanted IMPOSSIBLE. We wanted a burgundy and white theme for our july wedding but as we've gone along we've picked out red as well as burgundy. It's too late now to change anything as we don't have the money to start over, but does it look ok?/ can we get away with it?

mood board pic has most of what we've actually bought... xxx

I have so many different shades of red / burgundy that I think I must be going colourblind - no matter how hard you try it's impossible to swatch match everything!

Personally I don't worry about these things as long as I think it looks alright - anybody holding invite ribbon up to my bridesmaids facsinators is probably too picky to worry about anyway! My mom commented the other day that people might be able to see the half insoles in the bridesmaids shoes as two of them were between sizes. I suggested people looking at the bridesmaids feet would have to be lying on the floor and therefore too drunk to notice anyway.

And honestly? All I can see there that's red is the sweetie bags. Will you care on the day that they don't match? Really? Don't stress the little things love!

lol!!!! your comment about the bridesmaids shoes absolutely made my day!! thanks for that!

I haven't been concerned about the colours myself, but concerned about what other people will say. I'm fed up of constantly hearing people say "oooh you haven't done this", "you should do this", "that won't look right", "that's not traditional" etc. I was worried that this might be one more thing for people to nit pick over.

thanks for the reassurance. I guess all that matters at the end of the day is hb2 and I celebrating together xx

Burgundy, red, and one or two sneeeeeeaky bits of dark pink - along with ivory and champagne:

I rather like the slight differences myself!

We are having red and burgundy for our wedding which i thought would look too many shades with everything together but as they are from the same family of colours i have not really noticed too much difference when it is all together.

Go for it and i would be suprised if anyone worried about the slight differences of colour on the day.

Thanks Queenbyron! You wouldn't notice a half insole then?
