Here's mine, we got married in October so went for an autumn theme. My best friend made the cake! The topper is a fairy (for me) and John McClane (my husband is a big fan of the Die Hard films).
The best thing to do is to decide on what type of cake you want. We went for cupcakes as we served them with the buffet in the evening.

To get inspiration- go to google images and type in wedding cake - or whatever you theme is - it comes up with thousands of pics !!

the icing had this pattern

and we did the flowers the night before in the hotel room, was brilliant fun!

i had an autumn wedding x
This is our wedding cake. It was a 'random white chocolate curl' style. We got married on 24th October 2009:
