Subject: Wedding Planners - when do they start organising things?
Can anyone help me please.... I have a wedding planner for my upcoming wedding in Paphos Cyprus in October but am starting to get a bit worried. Some of the things i have organised myself ie photographer/ transport and i found when organising these that some were already booked up months before! How close to the actual wedding do wedding planners usually leave things to be organised? Am i just worrying over nothing? Or should things be getting booked up now? We do have the venue/church organised but just worried about the smaller things, flowers/makeup etc

Thanks for your replies... To be honest Butterflyrobin i havent heard from them for ages. At first with the initial organising of the chapel/venue and basics i heard quite a bit but now nothing! I feel like things should be falling into place now, i know its still over 6 months away but hey Cyprus is a popular place to get married these days!
Theres still a lot to be sorted and its worrying not knowing its all booked up.

Hun I would ask who it is but u may not want to say? If u do I'm sure we could all give u feedback if one of us is using the same person/people?!
I would def say things should be getting organised by now.
Eight to six months before
Decide on flowers and other arrangements. Not only for your bouquet but maybe reception and ceremony.
Choose a cake design.
Maybe launch your own wedding website!
Shop for bridesmaids dresses.
Schedule hair and make-up appointments.
Think about music for the ceremony, are you having ‘live’ music or CD?
Think about favours and other fripperies, remember that you maybe able to get them in resort. You do not want to have to carry more than you need within your valuable luggage allowance.
Check what is needed and get all the required documentation for the wedding ceremony.
Six to two months before
Finalise reception menu and flowers orders.
Think of ‘first dance’ song if required.
Confirm guest list
Book transport arrangements.
Make sure you both have required documentation
xx

Hi hon
I totally understand you as I went through the same thing exactly. All I can say is CHANGE HER or do it yourself. I went for the latter option as I was really scared to get anyone else after my experience with the first one and I am so much happier to be in full control of the most important days of my life! Good luck x

Hi, I'm getting married in Rhodes but not until next summer, however our planner sends out a pack with all the relevent documents in it. One document is for all your wedding extras which states "to save any disappointment extras must be confirmed before 31st March of the wedding year " so I'm sure you still have time to sort everything out but at least you would think they would be in touch asking what your extras are.(our wedding compnay is called Exquisite Weddings, Rhodes...excellent company and so pleased we found them) Good Luck Salb2bx
