Yes I am judging but I don't care!

Just saw a mum driving with her belt on and her son in the back not belted sitting right forward. It really makes me sad that someone values their own life more than their kids.

Maybe the child had just unclipped his seatbelt. I know i was a bugger for that when i was a kid. Unless the kid was like 1 and couldn't of done that then that's just bad parenting !

I hate seeing that, if my daughter unclips her belt we pull over and clip her starght back up again and tell her that if she does it again we wont go to where we are going!
Thankfully my son is too young to do that but give it 6 months and im sure he will figure out what to do lol!!!

Do u know Jedwardpants, I saw a guy in a car in front of me at the lights on Fri talking away to his daughter who looked no older than 2/3 and she was perched in between the 2 front seats!
I followed him for a while till my turn off but I was sooo tempted to pull up beside him toot the horn and have a go!

These people would be the 1st to complain if something terrible did happen or likely to blame others or the car seat the child was supposed to be seated and belted in!!! x

BTW when my 4yr old son was 2 he went through a stage of working out how to unclip his seat belt on his carseat. I stopped everytime and clipped him back in and eventually - we're talking a good couple of weeks here - he stopped! x

It's really irresponsible, and there's no excuse for it!

Totally irresponsible. I was picking my son up from nursery a few months back and a dad there collected his daughter (can't have been more than 2) and just plonked her on the lap of someone sitting in the front passenger seat and drove off. No car seat or seat belt in sight. Idiot

Sad thing is it won't be till something serious happens that they do anything and by then it will be too late....they can't say they weren't warned at least!

Last week someone parked their car across the entrance of our staff car park at an angle and left a baby by itself in the back!!!! I was tempted to call the police I can tell you!

I've seen people do this too. A guy left his tiny baby in car at the school few wks ago but the car park is nowhere nr the main entrance and thats where he went. I was there for 10 mins or so and he still wasnt back! We couldnt believe it!

Could have but if it was me I would have stopped the car and wouldn't have moved till my daughter was tied back in.

One of the mums at the gates was down one day and was speaking to us for at least 25 minutes (school was on a trip and bus was late). She then said that she best go up and check on her son!! I couldn't believe she had left him in the car alone for so long he was only 2. It wasn't as if he was in view.

Perhaps the parent didn't notice?

You can't have 100% attention on your child when you're driving.

No ure right, if it was a case of just unclipping then u may not notice but as soon as u do u should stop the car and reclip.
Im sure people would notice if a child unclips and then tried to jump around the car or stand up etc

i doubt it's because they value their life more,

it is probably habit for them, where as the child may still have to be prompted - a failing in not prompting them or ensuring they understand what will happen if they undo it and there is a crash, but that alone

i wouldn't say it means they value their own life more, it's a bit of a leap!
