That sounds like a excellent hen do to me

Thrills of the rides then relaxing spa.

Have you looked at Trip advisor and asked anyone there for tips on where to go?

If you didn't fancy a big night out then you could continue the evening and all pile into one room for a take away/room service, lot's of wine and continue to pamper with painting nails etc. Like a grown up slumber party.

I looked at this.

The trouble with Alton towers is that it is miles from anywhere. If you wanted to go "out" I think Derby is the nearest? From memory when we stayed there it was about 30 mins away but I may be mis-remembering that. I know it seemed a fair distance and 1 person is stuck being driver.

At the hotel there is nowhere you can have a dance unless you do book one of the special sleepover rooms. These sleep up to 8 I think and you would have to have a party in your room. Tis V V expensive though.

I have ended up with Blackpool for the Pleasure Beach instead

8 of us went to Alton Towers for the weekend for a friends birthday last year, it was fab!! There has been talk of us doing it again this year, but h2b and I have got a bit on this year (like getting married!) and can't really afford.
We stayed at the Splash Landings hotel in family rooms that sleep 4 (double and bunk beds). We got a really good deal (which I'm told they still do) - 2 days admission to the park, 1 night bed & breakfast and unlimited access to the Splash Landings water park for £104 each. Not bad considering it's about £35 per day to get into the park itself!
Evening meal isn't included but there's an all you can eat buffet restaurant in the Splash Landings hotel (though you can use bars & restaurants in either hotel). Can't remember how much it was, but it was really good.
As for evening entertainment, there was music and I think a dancefloor area in the Alton Towers hotel. To be honest, we'd been up since about 6 and had a busy day in the park and really didn't feel like partying (in fact, me and another girl went to bed about 11 and left the others to it!). Also, if you stay over, you get early entry into the park the next day and can go on most of the big rides before everybody rushes in and there's a big queue.
I don't 'do' big rides, though I did go on 'Air' twice and loved it, but still had a great time and managed to take some good photos of the others on the rides.
I think it's a fab idea for a hen weekend!
Give me a shout if you want to know anything else!

HI!
I'm the "Hen" Sheenangle was referring to.,I did the AT thing last year for my Hen do and it was amazing. There were 12 of us, we has 2 of the themed suites for 2 days, 2 days access to the park, with Ultimate Fastrack passes thrown in and it was amazing, we has SUCH a crack!! The rooms are AWESOME, the food is great, evening entertainment at the hotel fab, I can't rave about it enough, it really was great.
So great in fact, the same 12 of us are hoping to go back again this april for another girly weekend!!
I was in the Alton Towers hotel, but we went across to Splash Landings for the "all you can eat" buffet dinner (yum, and I might add a bit of a bargain!)
Have a nose at Towers Times website, it gives you detailed information about the hotels, and there are some fab piccies of the themed rooms too. We had the Celebration Suite and the Imperial Leather Suite - both incredible.
It worked out at just under £100 per person, which was good value we all thought considering when you add up, outfit, novleties for the night, drinks, admission to clubs, dinner etc etc, you could end up spending more than that depending on where you go, so I would say it's well worth checking out.
I guarantee you'll all have a ball!
Hope this helps. Mail me if you want anymore info!!
