Hey Everyone

Ok so i know some people are wondering about ''upgrades'' on flights and not sure about the seating arrangements, i have found this on the Thompson website and thought it may be of some use to everyone that is flying with Thomson / First choice (they are the same)...

What benefit do I get from booking Thomson Airways Premium Class seats?
Thomson Airways Premium Class seats allow you to enjoy more space and comfort, with wider seats, free drinks, a selection of blockbuster movies and special in-flight meals.

Long Haul Premium Class Comfort

At least 36” seat pitch
Wide leather seats with head support
Luxury pampering pack

Long Haul Premium Class Entertainment

9” Widescreen seat-back TV
Entertainment on demand: stop, start and rewind
Up to 16 movies (8 each way)
Up to 7 TV channels and 10 audio channels
Up to 10 interactive games
Complimentary noise-reduction headsets

Long Haul Premium Class Service

Dedicated Premium Class cabin crew
Priority check-in and boarding
Free drinks (excluding Champagne), including a drink before take-off
Choice of four course meal and snack before landing
Free fun kids’ meals

Please be aware that seats together are not guaranteed when booking Premium.

However if you choose standard class then you can select your seats together, see below for info:

Sit together, next to a window, or in a seat that gives you more space – with us, you can say no to the seat lottery and pre-book your seats. We’ve introduced ‘Select Your Seat’ – allowing you to choose your own seat numbers from a plan of the aircraft. The way it works is simple. Just reserve them online when you book your holiday by clicking on ‘Select Your Seat ’. We’ll then ask you to choose your actual seat numbers when the seating chart for your flight opens – 60 days before your departure date.

You can also use Select Your Seat to add plenty of other little extras to your flight – like in-flight meals, extra luggage allowance and sports equipment carriage.
You’re even able to add luxuries including chocolates and champagne to your flight – and really start your holiday in style.

Hope this helps some of you

x

I hate flying so as a 'treat' last year my OH upgraded us.(it was on a BA flight) I thought it was NO way worth the amount we paid extra and in my opinion was just an expensive meal! (as standard just got sandwiches) The staff were snotty and the legroom was in no way extra enough to warrant the cost....... in fact in all fairness I would never fly BA again I thought they were shite!

I disagree, I have flown with First Choice / Thomson before and and upgraded each time and I thought it was better than being in economy and I think its def worth the money. You can also pick your own seats online about 3 months before you go but we went to the travel agents and they are going to do it for us before that!!!

When I went to the Maldives it was a very long flight and def worth the extra money!!!

We flew in standard Thomson seats to Mexico and had great flights, H2B is 6'2 as well- seats 33" pitch- more than BA and Virgin standard seats, pay £5 to upgrade your entertainment to get same choice of movies as premium. Food was fine- hey at the end of the day it's all plane food. I would rather have a fantastic meal or more excursions at the destination or lovely souvenir, or buy duty free on the flight to bring home with the extra money paid for seats, especially when I sleep through a lot of the flight- why not upgrade for one way of your flight? I would say weigh up the benefits of upgrading/ not and see what you could buy with the extra money. x x

hi
we picked our seats online before we went.everything fine going but on the way back they had a different aircraft so we couldnt have the seats we had paid for.i ended up sat in the middle of 3 seats and i had booked an aisle seat.
to claim money back we have to send in our boarding cards to the travel agent.problem is our cards were taken off us at manchester cos the flight was going on to gatwick.
only £32 out of pocket but still!!!

Hi all

I am off to egypt on the 4th April (booked with First Choice , although flight with Thomson)

I ve booked extra leg room seats as a little treat (only £50 each return) - and as stated they are arent guarantee together - BUT i rang to see if i could pre-book seats and was directed to the below link ;

It worked a treat i now have confirmation of my seat numbers (together - whoop) and feel a lot happier !

Hope that helps

Ps - even if you ve booked seats together you can still long on to the link and select your actually seat numbers - some might say its hardly worth paying the extra for seats together when you can log on anyway and grab seat numbers - i suppose its personally peference !

Good Luck x

Thanks 2wed2010.. you are a star!! Just pre-booked our seats for our non-premium flights!! Will definitely invest in £5 for the extras.. How bizarre you can do that but they make out its only for premier bookers... bit naughty really! x
