I,m going for a princess....

http://ktbridal.co.uk/r9.htm

It's very light though, didn't want anything too heavy because of the heat!
I wanted a grecian style origionally but that didn't really flatter my figure as much as this one.
I suppose it depends on what you have in your own mind, if you want big, go big! We have to get our dream dress in the end xx

I'm wearing a proper bridal gown. I'm a pear shape, and did try on a couple of destination dresses and they just made my already huge hips look even bigger because of the type of material they were made from. I don't care if it's hot, our hotel has air conditioning, and we're marrying in the town hall so in theory I'm only going to melt when we're having our photos done.

I was going to do the whole destination dress thing, but I too tried a few on and felt like I was wearing a white sack.. did absolutely nothing for me... I need a corset that is going to suck me and give me a perfect figure!! ..lol ..well maybe not pefect but I've already dropped a trouser size doing the special k diet for a week... is damn boring though...lol

Here is my dress... I love it so much I can't wait for it to come in to the shop in May!!! makes me giddy just thinking about it.

Rachel, all I can suggest is that you do the rounds at some bridal shops, get an idea of what suits your body shape and what you feel comfortable. Believe me when its the right dress you will know... I cried in the shop when I put mine on... and when i took my mum back to see it, she too started blubbering.. which set me off again... lol

Good luck dress hunting!! xxx

thanks louisa - your dress is stunning. to be honest a destination dress probably does suit me best being 5'10 and a size 8 but when ive tried them I just felt like I had a white cocktail dress on! Ive tried loads on but never had that feeling that its "the one" I am doomed!xx

Thanks Rachel!!

You lucky thing!! I'd love to have you height and size, unfortuantely for me I'm 5,3" and rather podgy..but i'm working on that one. lol

There are some gorgeous destination dresses out there, have you tried any of the Mori Lee collection?

http://www.morilee.com/Bridals/Voyage/

I think the majority of them look like wedding dresses as oppossed to an evening dress, have a look and see what you think. I originally was going to go for the morilee voyage 6304 one, lucky i never found one to try on, or I could of been in real trouble...lol Nope I not going to think about it, I love the dress i've chosen..lol.

When is your wedding date?

xxxx

I am also having a princess dress, I'm 5ft 5 and a size 14-16 (having had 2 kids I'm not the bride I could have been haha!) so the destination dresses look terrible I wanted to rip them off and throw them out of the window when I tried a couple on! I went for this one and just knew as soon as I put it on it was the one!!!

I also loved it because of the halter strap, even though it doesn't give any support it makes me feel better cos I have big boobs and I felt exposed in just a strapless dress.

Good luck anyway, go and try some dresses on!

Floridabride. You must have a similar figure to me! My poor 5ft 5 size 16 body has also been ravaged by 2 children lol! I need a corset dress with someone willing to pull the laces so tight I go blue PMSL! This is the dress I'm currently in love with, but I've only just started looking.
