VAT QUESTION...HELP!!

Me and H2B have just had a really scarey thought whilst looking through our wedding package from the venue, is the total that we owe including VAT or not???? It doesnt say anything in the paperwork about prices including VAT or not. I have rung the venue just now and the receptionist says she doesnt know and the wedding coordinator isnt in til tomorrow apparently.
Im totally freaked out now because this will be another £600+ we hadnt planned on spending within our budget.
Does anyone know if these things include VAT usually.
H2B says he cant believe that NOONE at the venue can answer our question????

It should really say on the paperwork inclusive or exclusive. Maybe check the small print.
If it still does not clarify you could argue it if they then say its exclusive.

I will be totally gutted if they say its exclusive because we really cant afford the extra £600:cry:

Had the same question for my venue as it wasn't obvious (to me at least) if prices included vat or not. Thankfully, it was inclusive of vat.

If you've thoroughly read your booking terms and conditions and it still isn't obvious then unfortunately it sounds like you may need to wait for your co-ordinator to return before you have your answer.

I think most hotels and large venues automatically include VAT. Ours certainly was. Good luck xxx

I agree, i think the VAT would be included. And if it doesn't say on your contract either way then you can argue that you were never told that the prices were not including VAT. Could you not ring the hotel back and ask to speak to the Duty Manager - I'm sure someone can answer your question.

We have a large venue, and ours doesn't include VAT, but this is made very clear in the contract. If it doesn't say anything about it in the terms and conditions, then I'm pretty sure they can't charge it to you. Have you signed your contract?

Thanks so much for that hun, I took your advice and rang back and asked the snotty receptionist to ask the duty manager, she came back and said that the duty manager ensured her that the prices ARE inclusive if VAT, THANK GOD!!!!!
