I am about to start thinking about shopping for my dress for my April 2011 wedding. When I choose and order a dress will I be expected to pay for it in full or pay a deposit and then pay the balance when the dress arrives?? Sorry if this seems a stupid question!!!

When I chose my dress, I paid half of the price, and when I go for my next fitting (6 months later) I pay the rest, hope this helps!

I also paid half when i ordered and the balance will be paid when the dress arrives. Some shops do different payment options, i know one shop i visited said i could put a deposit down and then pay monthly as i had over a year until the wedding.

Hi there,
I paid a small deposit on my dress (£50).
And pay it off monthly, with half being paid by this september a year before our wedding.
And the other half on my first fitting.

I got my dress from Berketex and they had a 20% off offer on that day but I had to pay for the dress in full that day to get the reduced price.

Most bridal shops take 50% deposit though...

I had to pay in full but that may have been because they had a sale at the time - perhaps with new orders they were able to take a smaller amount as a deposit x
