UPDATE ON PG1: WEDDING IS 47 DAYS AWAY AND CANT FIT IN DRESS

Im too fat to fit in my wedding dress my wedding is 47 days away and I could cry, i have failed to diet enough to fit in to my wedding dress and the stress of the wedding and other pressures has led me to comfort eat more (im so angry at myself).

Im so sad, everything has gone wrong with this wedding – i bought personalised gifts with our wedding date on and i had to change the wedding date due to problems with the date so the date on the gifts is two days out. I bought a silver plated Swarovski tiara in nov 2009 and it has now turned a gold colour?! Also my veil is diamond white so i need to find a diamond white dress but i think only Maggie sottero sells diamond white dresses – will an ivory dress match a diamond white rimmed veil?!? im stressing everything is costing so much and my credit card is mounting up, im worried how im going to afford the repayments. My budget for a dress was £500 pound and i have spent more than that on two dresses that are too small so i now cant spend more than £250 really . im hoping i can sell my two dresses quickly so i can buy another lovely FITTING dress soon. All these worries are not helping as I suffer from anxiety and depression also. I was in town and felt so close to a panic attack today..... im starting to hate planning this wedding, im dreading how im going to look. I still have loads to buy and do......*cries*....... And breathe.......Sorry for the rant everyone (Also posted in emotional support.)

Now for the questions i’m dreading the answer too - Is it too late now to order a dress from a bridal shop? Could i get my too small one adjusted to make it bigger? Or is this impossible/expensive. im so scared to buy another dress online and it not fit/look right. I think bhs/very.co.uk/monsoon are going to be my only options because i am able to send these back the only thing is i love Maggie sottero / mori lee dresses and they are much more expensive

First, you need to calm down a bit.

Out of the 2 dresses you have why don't you take the one that fits the nearest to a seamstress and see what alterations can be made?

Also Berketex do diamond white dresses - mine was from there and it was diamond white, i don't think in all honesty you will get away with ivory and diamond white, but i'm not entirely sure you will be able to order a new one from a bridal shop in such a short space of time, unless you can find one in a sample sale.

Sorry to hear your having so much stress! Firstly put your dresses on Ebay and anything else you can sell to get some money back.

As for your wedding dress... I bought my dress in Hornsea, Yorkshire from a store that sold ex sample dresses. Mine was an Amanda Wyatt dress and it cost me £350!!

Why don't you Google in your area bridal shops that sell sample dresses and go down a try a few on?

Oh Vintage I do feel for you. I do think it is too late to order a dress from a shop...but many shops sell of sample dresses cheaply and you can take the dress away then and there. That may be one option open to you.

I agree with Mrs B that you should speak to a seamstress to see what can be done. That one call/meeting may solve all your problems.

It is not the end of the world...but you do need to calm down...go have a cup of tea and talk it through with your friends...hopefully one of them may have another suggestion.

Im based in Southampton but visit bournemouth regularly. I might try and go to the berketex in Portsmouth next weekend and I will look out for bridal shops that sell samples dresses in Bournemouth first as im staying here at the mo. thanks so much for your help.

Vintage, did you buy size 8/10 dresses in hope of slimming down 4 dress sizes??? No wonder you are all stressed out darling, what immense pressure to put yourself under.

If it was only a dress size you needed to lose, I would rec' Atkins (disgusting on the body but works) but as it is I just hope you get yourself a dress you like by thge time the big day rolls around. Have you looked on pre-loved?

i must sound like an idiot lol. Well i purchased the first dress from ebay as they said it was a size 10 but it would fit 10/12 /14 as it is a corset back and my plan was to slim down to 12/14. It turns out it was an 8 not a 10 and it fits an 8/10/very small 12. Because i have lost alot of weight before i thought i could do it again and slim down to a very small 12 (i went from 18 to an 8/10 before in quite a short space of time.)i should of left neg feedback as it was sold incorrectly but i just fell in love with the dress. i think the pressure made me comfort eat more too.... oh well you live and learn lol

It comes round so quick but im feeling more positive i will find something!

Samples may be a great help.

Ring around all the bridal shops that are nearby. Ask them what they have in a sample size 16/18 and give them a budget of £250.00. You may be surprised.
