Catering Company - Glasgow - Pollokshields Burgh Hall

Hello All

This is my first post. I also posted this on the 'Receptios' section and then noticed this section.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a low priced good service caterer for my wedding reception in the Pollokshields Burgh Hall next year?

I have penciled my date in with Argyles Caterers who I really liked when I met but I can't decide whether to just book with them or look about a bit more?

Any advice or recommendations appreciated.

I have booked Reqis Banqueting for my wedding @ PBH in April - I found them to be one of the most reasonable when I was doing my research. Check my first post in My Other Topics for other suggestions...
Think it also depends on what you are looking for i.e sit doew 3 courses versus hot buffet etc etc and how many people

Top Class Catering are doing ours at Gartlea Community Centre and I know they do PBH quite a lot - I checked with loads of caompanies and they offered the best and cheapest package!

I am also using top class catering.

My package is £1895 for 6 course meal for 80 people, including champagne reception, wine with dinner, drink for toast, cake, limo and evening buffet for 50 people. This includes master of ceremonies and table decs.

Thanks for your replies. I might need to have another look at Top Class and work out prices etc compared to Argyle Catering. We weren't planning on having as many as 80 during the day. We were looking at about 60 so will maybe contact them and see what they say. Regis look really good as well. Think I'll need to collect proper quotes from them all.
Sometimes I think you can look too much. My head is starting to spin with catering companies.

We are getting married in PBH in Sept and we have also went with Top Class catering. We are hopefully going to see a wedding set up there in April to see how they decorate it etc!

I went to the xmas night that they do every year and they have a carvery buffet and it was excellent! The food was great! Can't wait to do it again this year if we get invited! lol (Just hope my wedding meal is as nice!)

Try Grooms Catering East Kilbride, they did a friends wedding and was pretty good from what I can remember, the vino was flowing. There are video clips of me I'd rather forget.

We're getting married in PBH in July and have booked Debbie Dalrymple to do our food, tell her your budget and she will work to it.... She's fantastic and also does weddings there regularly - lives just round the corner too which is handy. good luck x

My brother got married there last year and they used Top Class and they were fab! I loved the food and the staff seemed great, plus they kept me right cos I was so scared at being the one who had to go in first in front of everyone and lead the rest of the bridesmaids and parents to the top table! And I hadn't even seen in the room so didn't know what direction the table would be in or anything lol! I didn't want to look like a fool trying to find it! But the main guy from Top Class told me what to do! Thank goodness he was there or I'd still be trying to find it! (I'm reknowned for getting lost very easily, not being able to find ANYTHING, etc!)

I emailed Regis and Top Class last night but haven't heard back from either of them???

Grooms are a bit out of my price range I'm afraid.

emfb, I just googled Debbie Dalrymple and nothing came up. Does she have a company name?

Its just her on her own and she goes entirely on reccomendation so no websites, did PBH not give you a pack with a list of caterers on it??? She is on that list but if you don't have it send me your email and i'll email you all her contact info

Better to call Regis if you want a reply straight away - Ryan can sometimes take a few days to reply on email

Hey girsl.

Ryan got back to me yesterday. I'm going to see him next Thursday. Quite excited for the free tasting.
No reply from Top Class so might have to give them a wee ring.
Yeah I did get a list but don't remember seeing her name on it. I'll need to dig it out.

Did you hear back from Top Class? Usually they got back to me quickly but the only time they didn't they apologised and said that they had been on holiday. Good Luck on Thursday!
