If you have nothing in the budget i would strongly suggest you get a friend (or 2) to film it then edit it yourself, as i think it would be a big regret. The day will whizz by and you won't remember everything. It would also be nice to have someone film your groom getting ready as you would miss out on seeing that. x

hi hakataka

i agree with ianstuartdress about asking someone to do it. we're asking my BIL to do it for us cause everyone always says how nice it is to watch it back cause the day goes so fast you forget all the little things that happen.

we're lucky we have got a video recorder which we're going to use, but if you haven't got one do you perhaps know anybody with one that you could borrow? xx

i've seen lots of posts on people saying you'd regret it otherwsie, and in our case it's not a budget thing but the fact that i really don;t like the idea of someone wandering around with a video (unless it's a family member doing it for their own sake..)

I'm not having it filmed...I would also say DON'T ask a friend to film it.

They want to enjoy they day and don't want to be hasseled with it. My dad was asked to film someones once or twice and he is still annoyed with having to do it and not enjoying himself as a guest would.

hey
one of our ushers is filming the day...he is always filiming group holidays n has a wicked sense of humour we're not putting any demands on him about specific bits that need to be filmed so im hoping he can just pop the camera on n off when he feels like it hopefully he will still enjoy the day
im always watching my brothers weding video (that was also taken by a friend ) so think itd be nice to have one to capture the memories

We're planning to just have photos but I have asked H2B friend (usher) if he can film the main bits in our wedding as he's currently filming a short film that he's hoping will make money at some point and we've seen a trailer of it and it looks good

His wife is pregnant and due in May so there is a chance that they can't make it to our wedding but he said he would film the wedding if he can be there on our big day. I'm not fussed either way.

We're also having a wedding in Mauritius and I want to book a videographer for that wedding as its a lot cheaper to have a video there

We're not having either...guests are bringing their camera (if anything ends up on facebook...I may kill them) so we have some sort of casual record of the day...but I'm not one for the organised wedding/group piccies which is why we're not having a photograher! x

we are just having photos too, im th same as utopian99, they look nice, but i would never watch it and dont really like the idea of a film crew following me all day! lol, we have a professional phographer who is really good, so we would rather spend the oney on better photos than have a video and photographer, but its personal choice really. i would just like time to relax and enjoy pnce the phographer has gone etc. good luck! x

We get 2 photographers in our package, so I don't want a videographer as well.
I'm just going to ask my Dad to bring the camcorder for the evening do, as it'll be fun to look back on this in years to come.

We're not having a videographer but there are a couple of people who will probably choose to video bits themselves.
We are asking all our guests for copies of any photos they take though and providing CDs for them to put them on for us

We are having a photographer, but our budget wouldn't allow for a videographer, so we are buying a camcorder (you can pick them up quite cheaply these days) and asking one of friends to film it for us. xx

I am amazed at how many people aren't having their wedding filmed! Each to their own and I can understand why some would feel 'on the spot' and a not liking the feeling of a camera being in their face so to speak.

So many people do regret it after their day becuase there are a lot of things that you do miss. We kindly asked a friend to do it, he really doesn't mind, if anything he is excited to have an important part to play and is looking forward to it. I wouldn't rule it out, and have a talk to your H2B and come to a decision together xx
