I'm getting married 2 weeks today, & we've booked to go to Venice with BA but they're planning to strike the day we fly out there! Been very blue last few days about the whole thing, but am resigned to the fact that we just have to sit tight & wait to see if our flight's cancelled now.
Anyone else in a similar predicament??
Jennabev, am I right in thinking you're flying from Gatwick if you're going to Venice? If so there's a very good chance (not certain but very hopeful) that you may not be affected as the majority of Gatwick crew will not be striking as they are on different contracts to those at Heathrow. I know it's not a cert but I hope this goes someway to reassuring you. X
We're flying from Edinburgh to Heathrow two weeks today before going to the maldives at 9pm. Have checked other options but will cost £500 to fly with Bmi to heathrow. Dont know what we're going to do, either risk it and turn up on the day and find out need to drive super fast to Heathrow or just get easyjet flights to gatwick.
Does anyone know when they will announce which flights are cancelled?
You can already check the website, for instance, I tried to book a flight from Gatwick to Genoa during the strike period and it just says no flights available.
Edited to say: I think this isn't confirmed though,
this is what I found on website
"Our plan is to announce our schedule around five days before the strike date"

We are due to fly from Manchester to Gatwick next Monday before staying over and flying to Cuba on Tuesday morning (thankfully not with BA!)
At the moment we are just waiting to see what happens with the flight to Gatwick and I think they are going to announce the cancelled flights today. If it is cancelled we are going to get our money back and get 3 trains as no one else flies from Manchester to Gatwick. It's a stress I coulddo without with 5 days to go till my wedding!
I htink the only thing you can do is keep checking the BA website and hope for the best. Longer haul flights seem to be OK but it is short haul and domestic that are the worst. What annoys me is that to get to gatwick we had no choice but to book BA so it's not like we can just change to another airline (who I imagine are hiking their prices sky high at the moment).
