Have you got a cash and carry card or a friend with one? The easiest way would be to bag up sweets already as you wont have to get someone to keep tidying the table plus if you've got a lot of children you wont have any dirty hands in them!! If you have a local little shop theymay be able to help plus if you want to go down the old fashioned sweet shop type table you can get the big kilnar jars in asdas and tescos quite cheeply, probably be able to sell them on afterwards as well. x

I am going to buy jars and bowls from ebay and have some vases at home I can use.

As far as the sweeties go I have a friend who's mum has a sweet shop and getting the sweets through her via the cash and carry. That is defo the cheapest way to do it I think!

I got some jars from Poundland to do mine, and am going to get MILs cash and carry card to get the sweets, if you ask around your mates someone's bound to have one.
The jars are the storage ones with lids, with the metal catches on (not sure how else to describe them lol)
Need to get some small scoops from somewhere but the whole thing shouldn't cost me more than 15 quid I don't think x

I'm having a sweet table and I started buying vases a while back.

We get married in 80 days so not too long to go!

I bought my jars from TK Maxx, Pound shops, Dunelm Mill etc...

I started buying some sweets the other day when I was in Tesco as I noticed that they sold the cheapest strawberry bonbons per 100g than I have seen and thats even in Costco and Makro etc... I bought three bags of 227g for £2 and I've bought them before and they taste lush!

I'm planning to buy the rest for Costco as they do massive packs of pink and white marshmallows and I also need to get Mint imperials, jelly beans, white coloured bonbons (clotted cream maybe), coconut ice etc...

As for decoration I bought a roll of organza and I also have pink tea lights with a clear glass tealight holder. I'm going to scatter table diamonds on the pink organza and have a white tablecloth. I'm also thinking of buying a potted orchid thats in a white pot. All the jars will have a personalised tag on them and I have also bought a white sculpted pic frame and will put a nice stylised note saying

Sweet table
Please help yourself

I might scatter some pink rose petals on the table as well if I have enough left over from the confetti cones that I need to fill as I bought 8L of petals and I'm hoping this will be enough for 38 confetti cones and have a tad left over for other things

My vases are coming in at around £25 and my sweets will be around £25. I also bought cupcakes as I have contacts where I work so I've got 80 cupcakes for £30 and I'm buying some more fancy ones from our wedding cake lady for £1.50 each for extra decoration.

I've also bought two cupcake stands. One wired and one acryllic from ebay

I might get some pink and ivory fondant fancies from Waitrose from their entertaining section

I'm guessing around £100 for all my sweet treats

Hi, I have done this and tried to keep costs down.

Got various vases from Morrisons, Ikea, Tesco & Asda - didn't pay more than £3 for each of them. I have decorated these with colour coordinated ribbon to match my colour scheme. Also got some LOVE vases in brown to decorate the table along with a framed poem I got off another B2B on here!

Scoops I got from Asda for £1 each and tongs for 37p each.

Sweets - just got these from Makro the other day:
1 tub of Haribo cola bottles (1.5kg)
2 tubs of dairy fudge
1 tub of white chocolate fish & chips (1.5kg)
1 tub of milk chocolate jazzies
1 tub of white choc jazzies
All of this was around £25

Then I got from Asda:
4 x 200g bags of coconut mushrooms
6 x 70g bags of white choc jazzies (didn't think I
had bought enough in Makro!)
3 x bags of fizzy cola straws
All of this was about £6 and I noticed that the same coconut mushrooms were much more expensive per bag in Morrisons.

As you may have guessed, my colour scheme for my sweetie table is brown & cream!

Just got to get few more sweets (chocolate bonbons and Galaxy minstrels) and it will be done.

All in all I'm hoping to do it all for around £60 and I am on budget to do that.

Good luck.x

I got some jars in Tesco today for £1 each. Technically they are biscuit jars, but I figure no one will know the difference (I dodn't until I looked at the label)
I'm going to have my cake put out in the evening on the sweetie table. As well as pick and mix style sweets, I'm also going to get some candy lollypops in jars as well. Decorating the jars with sage green ribbon and got some scoops from ebay. Should cost around £50 in total (obviously not including the cake, lol)

Hi Mrs, IKEA are also doing funky jars with the silver catch starting from 80p for smallish ones. I bought some that were £1 each. Planning to go to costco for lots of sweets but not having as much as the other ladies as we are combining sweety table and evening buffet as people probably wont want to pick at sweets straight after meal - or so we hope! We are having bacon rolls at night and shortbread in the shape of butterflies. Can't wait. I'm more excted about setting this table up than I am about most other things ha ha. I am making 'Eat me' labels using brown luggage tages from poundland and using ribbon of the same colour as BM dresses and other stuff to tie to jars. Might also wrap a strip of organza (burgundy) round the middle of each jar just to tie it in and maybe stick couple of butterflies to the jar too. Sorry, just realised I am thinking and typing... Not good. must go and do something non wedding related...

Im going to have my cake in the centre that way everyone gets to see it while helping themselves to sweets and it also fills the table im also putting my 4 bridesmaids bouqets in small vases on it.

I was thinking of just really plain jars but decorating them with colour coordinating labels excetra to jazz it up a bit as although all those big fancy jars look fab i was worried people would be too scared to lift the lids and help themselves with fear of ruining the display cause i know i would be
