I bought a very beautiful dress from the Ben de Lisi range, with very sweet little petal detailing all over it. It is however, a bit lacking in fine detail so I have decided to hand-embellish it myself with tiny pearls and seed beads.

Anyone else doing this? How long did it take you?

I think I am going to be doing this for a good few months in front of the television of an evening, it is very fiddly work!

I'm not - I didn't want any bits on mine - just simple lace. But that's not to say I'm not a huge fan of embellishment beyond my wedding dress - I've been known to do a fair few self styled tops in the past and one pretty top with ribbons on - copied the idea from one I saw in a shop. Anyway - I've spent many a night in front of the telly cutting out fabric for bunting and it's a great way to feel like you're preparing for the day without spending much money! Time wise it all depended on how much I was doing - not very helpful answer sorry!

I might post pictures of what I have done as I do it. I've already done quite a bit and I'm pretty pleased with it so far. SO much more to do though, although I have ages in which to get on with it!

I'm crap at doing things myself, but I bought a brooch to add to dress and getting dressmaker to add cap sleeves and also hopefully add some beads to them to match the ones on my dress! Good on you though!

I think that is a really great idea to hand-embellish your own wedding dress. I did it for my mine too and it turned out pretty good. When you finish, don't foget to post some pictures here so we all can take a look. Hope it would be beautiful
