Subject: Teal BM dresses - thoughts??
Hello

Having a nightmare finding dresses that I/my BMs like, spotted this in Coast this weekend and wondered whether you thought it would work? I like it because I think it can be worn again (unlike some of the more 'typical' BM dresses) and as it's a late October wedding I thought the shoulders on the dress would look nice and keep them a little warmer!!

My BM's so far like the photos, but mum doesn't think it will work :\?

Love the colour, my BM's wore Turquoise and everyone commented on how stunning the colour was!!
Am not too sure about the shape of the dress personally i think it looks like something you would wear to a work function rather than a wedding but if your BM's and you like it then why not!!

What about these...

OR

Both i think could easily be worn again and not too traditionally bridesmaidy!!

I really like those Hodgeys but the problem is all three BM's don't want to show their knees off (don't know why, they look lovely to me!) so even getting them away from a floor length gown is a breakthrough!

My sister has turquoise and it was stunning.... I think you need another colour to incorporate in flowers etc though... my sister had bright pink and it was gorgeous. When I was looking for colours, I kept just putting things like "teal wedding theme" into google images and then u can see if you like the overall effect.

I'm definitely having teal as the colour scheme, it's finding the dresses! I'm having 'autumn' flowers to go with the time of year, so will be whites/oranges/green in the flowers they will be carrying.

I was tempted to go with an online company - lightinthebox as I've just got their swatch through the post and 'Hunter Green' is about as near to Teal as you can get and they do seem to have a nice selection on their website. My BMs aren't keen though because they can't try them on beforehand. I think BM dresses are going to be the most stressful part of our wedding - and that includes changing the date and venue last week!!

Mmmm that is a hard length to find as it all seems above the knee or floor length, maybe you should get them to look at styles not particular dresses overall they like and are happy with then take it to a dress maker and have them made?!

My BM's were fussy in the beginning, they didn't want anything that made them look old so they ruled out floor length in favour of prom style, we looked and looked and they couldn't decide on a style that suited them both so we plumped for a Hobbs bright pink chiffon knee length dress with satin waist strap and matching pashmina
In the end our wedding plans changed from April to February and that meant having to buy new dresses for the girls, with a month to go and both living at seperate ends of the country it was difficult as i relied on emailing them pics and time was fast running out... we ended up going with traditional floor length BM dresses but in a non traditional colour and they both loved them!!

I'm having teal as the colour scheme for my wedding in August. My bridesmaid dresses are from Alfred Angelo. They have a colour called 'tealness' in lots and lots of different styles! I'm sure you'll find something there they bith like!

I like the style and the colour! I don't think there's much you can do wrong for BM dresses from the high street, if they're in a solid colour.

What kind of wedding are you having and what kind of dress are you wearing? I think the dress you posted would look great at a sleek, chic City-style wedding

I'm wearing Maggie Sottero Madison

http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=A3312

So it's pretty sleek and simple which was the look I was going for. We are having a church wedding and then reception at a country hotel - so perhaps not the chic city thing - which I agree those dresses would look great for.

I've looked at Alfred Angelo - my BMs have tried on their dresses but couldn't find one they liked!!
