Subject: Do i need to have favours etc?
I am gettting married at 4.15pm and so therefore am only having a big buffet when we get back to the place that we are having the reception. Not having a table plan or anything just going to let people do what they want, as going to be having disco there too so hopefully people will be dancing more than wanting to sit. The thing is do i need favours? I was thinking maybe put up a table near the door with favours so when people go they can take them. But im really not sure. Help me please, what do you think i should do?

I am getting married at 3.30pm and having a buffet but we will be having a seating plan and speeches.
We are going to have 70 people for part 1 as that's the amount of people we can have at the register office so I am going to do favours for them on the plates.
I will have about 30 spare ones so will just leave them out as we are planning to have a cupcake and cookie table (making them ourselves, we are mental!) and we will have more people coming later on.
I am not going mad on cost either. The 100 favour bags cost me £12 on Ebay, they have come this morning and they are lovely and I will fill them with chocoate dragees in the wedding colours for another £12!

We're having a sit down affair and I've given thought to the favours and I imagine I won't bother them to be honest. I don't want the tables to be cluttered with lots of bits and pieces and mostly they seem to get left behind.
I think if you are going to have them, it's a great idea to have them on a separate table

I'm having a sit down meal too , but not having favours ! Instead each setting will have a sparkler to light as we are introduced and cake shaped bubbles !!!
If you have the budget for them , then go for something little as a token but if not , Don't worry yourself over it too much , trust me if they're all dancing and having fun then I don't think they'll notice hehehe x

I went to a wedding a little while ago and there were no favours and no alcohol on the tables. To be honest no body noticed! I think if you want to do it great, but don't worry about it if you don't

The quick answer is no, they are not necessary at all. We didn't bother with them and we had a sit down meal. I think they are an unnecessary extra devised by the wedding industry to get us to spend money!
