I know it's tradition for guests to wave off the couple but having thought about the weddings I've attended a lot of the time guests would leave around 9pm esp the older guests and there weren't that many guests to wave the couple off.

I've heard that the MC should announce when you plan to go...
What to do??!

We plan to be the last to go. I cant imagine not saying goodbye to all our guests. We have booked a posh jag car to pick us up and its booked to pick us up at 1am.

We hope to leave by midnight, but my worry is people leaving before we do, hence them saying goodbye to us rather than we saying goodbye to them!

I've never been to a wedding where the couple were "waved off". Almost every wedding I've been to has been in a hotel so the couple obviously stay there overnight. The only one that wasn't was my brother's and we certainly left before them, they were last to leave I think, they called a taxi at the very end of the night. Mine is in a hotel too so I'll be there until everyone has left then I'll go up to my room.

I want to stay and enjoy the party! We are staying overnight as are a lot of our guests and would rather be there celebrating with everybody than sticking with tradition and leaving early. I think that the being waved off was more when people were going straight off on honeymoon or to the wedding night hotel. x

We'll be the last to leave as we're staying at our venue but all the guests are either going home or staying at a nearby hotel. Our venue only has a bridal suite and no other accommodation. We're hoping it will be a lovely evening so we can sit outside once all the guests have gone and relax under the stars!
