Hi Miss Tuscany,

We're getting married in Cortona and are using Domenico Costabile, from what I've seen his shots are great. His website is: http://www.domenicocostabile.com/
Good luck!

We are going with Andrea Pitti:

http://www.andreapitti.com/

The reason we chose his was because we really liked his style and other friends who are photographers said they wouldn't hesitate to book him. Another reason was when we met him we could just instantly tell that he was someone we could warm too and that ours guests would feel comfortable with. Ok so his English might not be perfect, but that doesn't bother me one bit I am hiring him for his photography not his language skills!

We also looked at Jules and Danubi brothers. To be honest I wasn't that impressed with the setup at Danubi brothers and I thought that for what his pictures were Jules was a bit overpriced. I got the impression that he seemed to thrive on business from Brits since he was English and his price reflected that. Not that I didn't like his style at all, but I think Andrea is much better and his prices are a lot cheaper.

Also Andrea has done lots of weddings at our venue and knows exactly the little places to take nice pictures and I think something like that is important for a wedding photographer.

I am sure if you email him and tell him where you are getting married he'd be happy to send you some pictures of a wedding he has done at your venue.

I was about to post the same topic!

My planner sent me 4 photographers two days ago and I initially thought I would struggle to pick one and I loved 3 of them. Then one was out of the running due to being far too expensive. Which left me with 2 fairly similar in cost. My gut instincts/first impressions led me to choose Domenico Costabile (like sianian!). We don't get married untin june 2011 and I wasn't expecting to pick so soon. I am worried I will change my mind!!

I'm worried I have made the decision too fast and no one else seems all that fussed but me! To me thought the photos are incredibly important I am hoping for lots of modern photos that we can put in an album and look back at for years to come and would also really like one to have on the wall. I like his modern candid/spontaneous style but I am worried that our small wedding (10 adults, 1 toddler) won't be spontaneous/relaxed enought and we wont have some good shots of the key people and plenty of nice ones of us as a newly wed couple!

I also don't know how long to book him for, 4 hour basic package or add on more hours? we will be getting married at 5pm 20 minutes or so away from the villa where we are staying. I have set my heart on nice shots in the town where we get married and back at the villa (I love the shots in the tuscan countryside) and I am worried 4 hours won't be enough. My parents think 4 hours is too long - they can't understand what a photographer would do for so long!!

Sorry for hijacking the post!!

Antonella Francese Photography - she's a friend of mine and she's very good. If we had chosen Italy we would have gone with her - but since we chose France, another friend of ours who is a photographer offered. She's in this month's 'Wedding Ideas' magazine and she's easily google-able...

We looked at several photographers and met a few out there too, and we were going to use Domenico Constabile as his books looked good, but then he let us down last minute as decided to go with another couple who went for the more expensive package on the same day which I was really disappointed with. He seemed quite hell bent on just making money rather than going with us even though we'd booked him first! We went with Studio Bonon in the end and they were fantastic and did a great job, Massimo is the guys name and they did an amazing job on the day, and gave us a great price, we paid for the CD alone and then did the prints ourselves back in the UK. I work in TV and film, so have really high standards and so am quite fussy, but I can definately say their photography was brilliant and it was good for me to be able to choose my own prints and get them sized as I wanted to back here, which worked out a lot cheaper.
