HELP ! wedding in 6 months & we want a baby !

i know i know i am absolutely mad !!

we were going to ttc latest of sept, this is when we get married ! then we decided a little earlier like july/august time so then i wouldnt expand so i can still fit in my dress. we had a close call a couple of wks ago i thought i was pregnant, but i wasnt. my other half has been gutted ever since ! walking down the aisle with a bump is not problem to me - i just dont know what i can do about a dress...infact i like the idea of being pregnant at the time ! I have a dress already but it is corset style top & boned so i dont think this is a good idea !

what do i do ?

I say go for it.
If you're in your 20s, the average time it takes to conceive is 6 months. Just because you start trying today, doesn't mean you will be pregnant tomorrow and have a 6 months bump at your wedding day.
They say first time mums take longer to show as well, so I think you will be fine...

it will be my 2nd - but i was still really tiny with my 1st hoping i will be similar 2nd time round !

I just dont know what to do dress wise ! its a bit mad i know, there is a chance i will need another dress but if its to close to the wedding what do i do ?

i wanted to explore options before i say anything to my oh coz i know he'll be over joyed if say something then i cant let him down if its not possible :\?

What do you do? Personally I would tie a knot in it (!) until after the wedding...you need to work out which is more important to you because wedding planning is hard enough anyway without being heavily pregnant as well.

One or t'other for me I'm afraid x

to try and conceal a bump but say for instance i get pregnant quite quickly & i end up being like 5 months pregnant or something at the time of the wedding, would this be big enough !??!

if i were you, i would wait until i was married.

not only because of the dress, but also because wedding planning can really take it out of you. it is an extremely stressful time for most brides & grooms especially in the month or 2 running up to the day. the last thing you need is hormones and other things stressing you out at the same time! x

If you have a dress already I think it's a complete waste of money that you would try and conceive now, when all you have to do is wait a few months. I think that's silly to be honest. And if you did get pregnant now, you wouldn't be able to predict how big your bump would be, and you would be stressed out trying to have your dress altered at the last minute because of the drastic change in your body shape from month to month. What's the rush anyway, can you not wait until September? Do you just want a baby NOW, whatever the consequences? Dresses aren't cheap.

Six months really isn't a long time. We want a baby and are getting married end of August so are waiting until the Honeymoon! Its not just the bump I'd be worried about but I remember being knackered the first four months with my first! Also the wedding day is going to be a long tiring day and you only do it once.

At the end of the day though it is down to you and your H2B. x

Bella Bride83 I know how you feel! Me and h2b are desperate for a baby but can't afford it right now as we already have a 7 year old and I would have to give up work!

If I were u I would leave it a few months, maybe 3? then if you get pregnant before the wedding you will only be in the early stages and your dress will be fine! Your wedding is only 6 months away its not long at all!!!

yeh i was thinking about july time maybe might even go for june haha. my dress has a zip & was gonna have a lace up back on it instead then i opted out of that to save £50 ! lol but i think i will go for it now that way if i do get a little 'podge' of any kind it wouldnt matter - thanks ladies your all very helpful i feel loads better now its been on my mind for days !

How quickly did you get pregnant with your 1st? I conceived 1st time with my 2 children and we are thinking of trying for a 3rd after we get married in October. I dont know about you but I feel awful for the first 12-15wks - very bloated, tired, sickly and at around 12wks with both of my pregnancies my blood pressure dipped really low and I kept passing out!! I personally am definately going to wait until after the wedding to TTC and then I also know that on the day I can totally relax, let my hair down, have a couple of glasses of wine (doesnt mean the world but will be nice!) and enjoy looking and feeling amazing instead of feeling sickly and frumpy.

You sound very much like me though in a way because when I get an idea in my head, I want it there and then but with this one I really think that the Wedding is a one off day and it is worth waiting.

Just think of the added excitement of your build up to your wedding knowing that it is also the build up to trying for another baby too!

Obviously nobody but you and your H2B can decide when the time is right though.

I just wouldn't if i were you. It's only 6months. You have no idea if you would maybe have complications or terrible morning sickness etc. I think it would just be too much at once. A wedding and a baby are two of the biggest things you could do in your life, I defo wouldn't fancy trying to do both at once.

Iwantchocolate that isnt true - I fell pregnant straight away from coming off pill and was 22. I also showed straight away! At 3 months I was getting asked if I was having twins! I was huge x

ButterflyRobin - if you don't mind me asking, how long had you been on the pill? If you've been on it longer, does it take longer to conceive?
