Subject: Has anyone got Fun/Entertaining ideas for wedding breakfast!
Hey Ladies...
We're not having any entertainment in the evening, no band etc, just a DJ and dancing so I really want to have something fun or entertaining for the guests during the wedding breakfast or just before at the welcome drinks/canapes (1hr).
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or have been to weddings where there was something that you thought was entertaining?
Thanks for your help!

Hi SMcSpriggs

My partner is actually part of a 4 piece male acapella group. They do lots of weddings and will write bespoke songs for your special day.

One wedding they did was at the request of the groom's uncle. He asked them to turn up at the wedding as a surprise and sing an acapella version of the song 'I lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper' (apparently it was significant to them!)

They do do more traditional barbershop numbers as well, plus will sing people's favourite songs in the barbershop style.

Didn't mean this to sound like an advertisement for them, but just gutted that I can't have them at my wedding myself!

If you would like more info let me know!

Hope that has given you some ideas at least!

I'm considering a bouncy castle but not sure if this is a really bad idea or a really good one...!! I'm a big kid at heart and having retro sweets etc so thought this could work quite well. Oh - we will only have 2 children at the wedding too so it would be for the adults - do you think it will be used???? The other option we are considering is a magician. I've also seen some people do have caricatures..... One of the best (if you have the budget) is to hire a photobooth (sadly beyond my budget though). Hope that helps a little!

Here's a great idea. A friend of mine has a company http://undercoverentertainers.com/ who pose as waiters and then will burst into song. It's very cleverly put together and they're all West End singers so they're brilliant. We're having them for wedding breakfast and in the evening as well... of course by the evening they won't be undercover

I so love the idea of the under cover waiters... looked on their website and it says prices start from £900! Do you mind me asking if thats how much you paid? I'll look into the photobooth one that could be a good idea..
Thanks girls x

We got mates rates... which helps. Give them an email though because they're happy to tailor it to your budget and all that. john@rogersontheatreproductions.co.uk

The group also do the under cover waiters - prices depend on where you are in the UK?
Their website is http://www.testostatones.co.uk/

I don't know if this is too retro (I thought it was at first but I've come around!) but we're hiring a local Morris Dancer troupe to perform while we have our photos taken and the welcome drinks are served xx

Hi
Have a look on the post comedy / spoof waiters.
Bit long winded, but I have added the details of the comedy waiter I have booked

We cant afford the photo booth idea, so we are going to set up an area with a big dressing up box - silly hats, wigs, sunglasses etc, and have a mate take photos and also asking the guests to sign the guestbook - we are going to use the photos in the gurestbook afterwards, and inlcude a copy in the thank you cards. I am VERY into photography (wish I could actually take the pics myself!) so this seems appropriate - and fairly silly so hopefully will get people talking. Not sure if that helps - but its cheap!! x

We're having a carachaturist. He will be starting at 6.30pm (straight after our meal, before evening guests arrive) to do the top table people and any other day time guests, and he will be staying till 10.30pm. Our particular guy can draw around 80-100 people in that time, and is costing approx £400.00.
We've had our pictures done before and people always comment on them when they come to our house. I think people will have a great laugh watching and having their picture drawn!!!

Oooh great, some great ideas! Photo idea sounds fun! I have been in contact with the undercover waiters and their prices are actually reasonable, so i think we'll go for on of their options! Thank you Laura! x
