Subject: Help don't know if i am in the wrong or not??
Just had barney with family members and feel really upset but don't know if i am being dramatic or am i justified for feeling bit hurt, let me know what you think.

We are getting married in a few weeks at a spa hotel and people keep saying they are going to arrive early and use the spa have a swim etc, I feel like no one is taking it seriously and that they are only coming to use the facilities and are forgetting the real reason why they are there, i feel like they should arrive as a guest to our wedding not to settle in and have a jolly, especially when we have got them rooms there so they could enjoy the hotel the day after our wedding. i just feel like our wedding day is getting overlooked by people just wanting to experience the spa and that will be the talk of the day not our marriage!

I also don't want people to be bored of the venue before the wedding as even happened, it's really stressing me out, nothing has so far like this and i feel hurt but now keep asking myself am i being selfish????

I wouldnt say you are being selfish, but if i were you i would just let everyone get on with it, if they want to use the pool first then let em, i dont think it will take anything away from the wedding, if anything i will think it will enhance it! everyone will be happy and relaxed!!

I know its hard when you are in the situatuon and its easy to get stressed, but i would enjoy planing your wedding and i am sure everything will be perfect!!

Hi there,

I personally don't think you are being selfish, but I also don't think your family are being unreasonable. It sounds to me like they just want to make the most of the hotel, by getting some use from the great facilities that it has - which is a compliment to you really, considering you chose the venue.

I don't think it will take the shine off your day, or that they are taking it any less seriously, just sounds like they want to enjoy the venue that you are hosting at. I t sounds to me like you are maybe panicking a little - Im sure it will all turn out fine.

Thats just my opinion, I hope you don't take offence. x

I think you're being a little silly. It really doesn't matter and you can't tell people what they can and can't do on the morning of your wedding. I would just be pleased that they're excited about your wonderful venue!

hey sweetie,

i don't think you need to be worrying about this at all!

i honestly don't think that your guests are putting the spa facilities above your wedding. if i were a guest at a wedding in a spa hotel, i would definitely go early and use the facilities before the wedding too and make a weekend out of it. however, that doesn't mean that i wouldn't take the wedding seriously or that i would forget the real reason i was there. why not let your guests enjoy themselves before and after the wedding? from a guest's perspective, that would be an absolutely amazing wedding! x

I think you are having a bridezilla moment.
Why shouldnt your guests use the facilities if they are paid for. You will be getting ready anyway so you will be too concerned about yourself not them. Let them do what they want as long as they are there, then its all goodX
hope your cool X

Hi, I think you are worrying unnecessarily. If your guests are paying for the hotel room then they should be able to make full use of all the facilities. I've used a hotel pool while staying there for a wedding and saw no reason not to! I still had a fantastic time at the wedding but as we were paying £120 for one night it was an added bonus to use the pool etc. xx

It's funny how different people think. I personally, would think it was lovely, to have guests arrive a bit earlier so that they can spend time relaxing and pampering themselves a bit. If anything, it shows that they appreciate the effort you have gone to to find a nice hotel with facilities. I think you are being over sensitive. Its better than guests turning up 5 minutes before you get married, rushing in without giving it a seconds thought, Chill out and breathe xx

Hi I think that you have enough to worry about without this.

I would be hoping that my guests would say....do you remember when we went to X's wedding and used the spa etc and relaxed and then went to the wedding, its better than them all sitting round bored waiting for it to start etc...............I wish my hotel had a spa come to think of it!!!

I really wouldnt let it worry you x

Don't worry I'm sure most people wouldn't want a full swimming session before attending a wedding.

If I was one of your guests (feel free to invite me your wedding sounds fab) I would get a manicure or pedicure at the spa which is what I would do at my local salon before a wedding anyway.

Your guests are going to be relaxed, refreshed and preened to perfection and it will make your wedding better.

You are trying to control too much, people will always do things differently. Be glad that they are pleased with your venue and aren't moaning or complaining. It sounds like you guests will enjoy the whole experience of your wedding and you will enjoy how much they rave about it afterwards.

They probably think you want to hear how much they are looking forward to staying at the venue you picked.

I agree with all the above posts, I think it is a complement to the venue you have chosen that your guests will be able to not only see the person they love get married, but they will also enjoy the day and be relaxed rather than just driving up to the wedding and then going home. It will only make it more special.

If it were me 9as a guest) i'd be wantign to make the most of the hotel whilst I was there, the weddign is going to be the highlight but why shouldn't they make the most of the weekend - after all, they will be back to work on monday and you will be off on your honeymoon!!!x

I think you need to relax and chill out a bit scatty bride.

A spa is not going over shadow your wedding. You should be excited that you've chosen a great venue that everyone can't wait to visit.

Stop worrying chick

I think you are taking it a little too seriously. Our hotel has a spa too and I'd be very surprised if people didn't make use of it, after all they are paying to stay there so they should be able to use the facilities as they wish. I hardly think that going for a swim and using a sauna will overshadow your wedding day...! In the nicest possible way, I think you need to chill out slightly and not worry about your guests so much..!! xx
