Larger sizes dress shops in Scotland

Hi Ladies, I'm looking for a bit of help.

I haven't tried on a single dress for my wedding next summer cos frankly I'm petrified. Although I'm on a diet (WW) I'm still going to be needing a plus size wedding dress, and am looking for some advice on places where they stock larger sample sizes for trying on? The thought of going brings me out in a cold sweat.
Ideally in Scotland (I'm based in Edinburgh) but anywhere in east Scotland, West of scotland or centrally I couild travel to, Also some places in the north of England too.

Also, can anybody give me some advice as to which designers do generous sizes? Most of the dresses I've seen online and in magazines look stunning on the size 0 models, but not sure that many of them would look near me.

i felt the same way before i tried on dresses. i can highly recommend Reeta's on the Gallowgate in glasgow, just beside the Barras.

they stock a great variety of dresses in plus sizes in various designers. plus most designers will make dresses in bigger sizes however you may need to pay a little more. my dress is a hilary morgan and cost me £400 brand new.

I was worried too before I went to try them on, only to discover almost every dress looked good because I've got curves! I got my dress from Signature Bridal in Glasgow City Centre, they had my exact size in shop to try on, and many others to try too. I also went to Berketex Bridal who did stock plus sizes. I also heard Reeta's was good but they couldn't get a dress for me on short order.

Thanks for your advice girls. At least there are some places that do stock bigger sample sizes, cos I really am dreading it! I had seen an advert for Reetas in a magazine so had already put it on my possibles list. Didn't know about Signature Bridal, so thanks! And Glasgow was going to be our first port anyway I think!

Try Katherine Hamiltons in West Calder. They have a selection of larger sizes.

Also if you are in the Ayrshire area try Ayrshire Bridals in Ayr. i got my dress in there and it was a perfect fit.

Have a look at the scincerity bridal collection. they do a plus size range - they are stunning dresses and i think the website gives you a list of stockists in scotland.

I found The Marriage rooms in Bathgate had a superb range of plus size dresses to try on and were really great about making me feel good about myself. Had a great experience here but not at several other places!
They also stock a few of the min designers and were much cheaper for Maggie Sotterro dresses than the city centre shops. Definitely worth a try.
