I would say if you have a mac shop near to you go in for a consultation. It costs £25 but they will match your foundation & powder perfectly to your skin type & colour. The charge of £25 can be used as £25 towards any of the products in the shop so it is worthwhile.

Sorry to hear your trial didn't go well. I've only used MAC eyeshadow up till now and that is brilliant and lasts for ages. I'm going for a consulation there soon with my MOH after friends have recommended them. If you are thinking of spending at least £25 I would give it a go. Then you have not lost anything if you don't like the makeover as you will get that money back in products.

I had my trial with Mac yesterday and I ended up buying the lot! I would definitly recommend their Prep and Primer and one of their foudnations as it will give you a good, flawless base to start with.

I bought a lovely blusher from MAC last weekend - it is called spring sheen or something? (sorry can't remember!)
Anyway, I've decided to keep it for my wedding as I love the colour - it gives a lovely natural glow x

Can I make a suggestion? Bobbi Brown for your foundation. They are more yellow toned, and therefore more natural on the skin. Mac's eyeshadows are good, as are their lippies. For most everything else I'd recommend Bobbi Brown ... although I'm a recent convert back to Mac's Prep and Prime from Smashbox's photofinish.
My recommendations, if you're interested, are the following:
Bobbi Brown:
Skin Foundation
Corrector
Creamy concealer kit
Lash Glamour mascara (totally waterproof - I'd usually recommend extreme party, but this is not, and lash glamour is still amazing)
Pressed powder
Gel eyeliner

Hi MissRainbow-I brought Studio Fix Foundation, Prep and Primer, minerlise blush, eye primer base, 2 eyeshadow pots, Technakohl eye liner, Impeccable brow pencil, pro lash mascara and a Frost lipstick-all came to £150 including the £25 fee to have their makeover (which you then get off a product price). Good luck with your makeover! xx

Hi Miss Rainbow-I would go whenever, they say to go nearer the time as the light and your skin may be different in the Summer compared to the Spring, but to be honest my skin doesnt change to much and a good make up artisrt shoud be able to recommend products for you skin for a different season if you let her know if you tan well etc. Good Luck! x
