Subject: Is anyone NOT having chair covers? Cheaper alternative?
Hello! I was wondering if anyone had decided not to have chair covers? We're on a budget and I feel like it's a bit of a silly thing to spend money on and I'm thinking of just draping lace on the backs of the chairs or something instead. Do you think that would look rubbish?

I am thinking the same thing Ginge. i know chair covers look gorgeous but it's just an added expense we could do without. Would be glad to hear from any brides who didn't have chair covers and maybe see some pics... x

I wasnt going to have chair covers but then I found a really good deal. I got my chair covers with sash for 99p each from a lovely lady called Hannah at www.stunningweddingchaircovers.co.uk. She was so helpful and the covers were beautiful. They really made the place look good.
I went to wedding recently with a vintage theme and my friend had gone round all the charity shops and bought every old pair of net curtains she could find and drapped them over all the chairs and then pinned them in place on the back with big sparkly broaches. Its looked fab!

I'm not planning to, but am thinking of buying some organza to tie around like a sash as my ceremony room is very plain and I feel it needs some decoration.
I don't think I am going to both for the reception venue (its an evening reception only)

No personally I don't like them not really keen on the whole wedding matching thing that people go crazy about. My chairs at my venue are just cream so they look nice anyway, They are an extra expense and to be honest I don't think your guest will mind if the chairs aren't covered! I know some people like it and everyone's tastes are different but its not my taste personally x

I don't like hem either, my chairs are quite nice though but am considering the following organsa bows you can get it on a roll from ebay, ivy trailing round the chair or if I get time making some heart shaped lavendar bags out of country fabric to hang on the backs and use as favours

i'm having them but only because i have horrid chairs! Those pretty marquee wooden chairs people have are a blank background and don't need covering. Anything neutral would be fine i think.

i'm not having them. the chairs at my venue are nice without covers and i don't want my wedding looking like every other wedding with plain white chairs. G x
