Was talking to mil2b, love her to bits and we get on sooooo well!

but were digusing outfits and she said cos other people are wearing pinks, purples etc etc she doesnt want to wear the same, so she said she is goin gto wear ivory!!!!

OMG the bride is in ivory!!!9 no one knows the colour apart from my sister and mum)

I said to her, you cant wear ivory to a wedding!!!

whats everyones thoughts? or am i being stupid?? :\?

I wouldnt really care, as long as it isnt a wedding dress then i wouldnt mind! but alot of people feel differently!x

I dont think its fair for her to wear ivory, My sister might be wearing ivory but its also got big bold coloured flowers on it so i dont mind that!!

Could she not wear a teal colour? thats what my mum is going for!!

Hi,

I personally think that you should not wear a white/ivory outfit to a wedding. I know lots of people do not agree but I think its the brides colour and there are sooo many other colours people could pick.

I agree with florida2010! I think it's rude to wear white/ivory to a wedding as the bride should be the only one in it! I wouldn't mind if the majority of the outfit had a pattern over it in colour but if it's all white then no! Weird I was only talking about this today with a friend and because i told her my opinion and she believed the opposite she's now said she's wearing white to MY wedding! She could be taking the piss but still don't think it's right. xx

I think the only person other then the bride who gets to wear any shade from white to ivory is the brides mother. How nice did the mum look in Father of the Bride, in a cream suit. I wouldn't mind my mum wearing a cream suit.

MIL's eh?! Mine wants a swatch of the bridesmaids fabric so she can have an IDENTICAL colour outfit made!!! Seriously, she is going to stand out like a sore thumb!! I don't want her looking like my bridesmaid!!

Yep, i agree. The only person who should be in white/ivory is the bride.

I spoke to my mil2b last week & she told me that she's bought a dress that was ivory with black details on, at first i was fumming but didnt tell her as i didnt want to have an arguement over the phone, but she told me where i could see the dress online & that she was wearing a black cardy thing & i'm happy with that now.

This is the Ivory dress my mil2b is wearing (she's 56 btw & loves to to dress like a 20 something)

See that's not bad at all. I think it would be unfair to ask people to not wear white completely if it's a summer wedding but If the wore a plain white dress/outfit i'd be pretty miffed.....although we probably wouldn't spot it on the day. xxx

I'm in the exact same position my fiance's stepmother is wanting to wear ivory and she's going to be told when i see her next that i'm not happy with her wearing ivory. The only person at a wedding who's wears white/ivory is the BRIDE!!!

Stop worrying. There is no way she will outshine the bride!! I'm making a fishtail outfit for a MOB in olive green. And the bride is wearing.... a fishtail wedding dress. Don't fret, you simply will not be upstaged. xx
