Is it your normal clothes size and they just add in the bump bit?

I was just looking through some online dresses as i have a wedding to go to in August and will be 30 weeks pg if everything goes well and i suddenly didn't know!!!

The RSVP date for it is just after my 12 weeks so i'm going to reply from us and bump which'll be a nice surprise for him to find out

Hiya, I have a wedding my husband is best man for the day after my due date. So I have a serious problem deciding what to wear, or even if I can go. I've started getting a couple of maternity things, and they're usually made much bigger to cope with your body growing all over. I.e. I've some mamas and papas maternity trousers in a size 10, which are more like a very large size 12. Hope this might help. I like the idea of your rsvp reply! xx

I've just got some size 12 jeans and trousers and they are a size 12 (my normal size) however if I balloon like all the other women in my family have done I'll be needing to move up into a 14 by 6months!

I've just decided to buy what feels comfortable, but am also very very lucky that my sister in law had a baby last year and has loaned me some lovely tops and dresses to see me through summer. I also trawled through my wardrobe and found several items that I'd impulse bought but got home and decided made me look pregnant so had hid away....now I don't care if they make me look PG! x

So i could be buying bigger anyhow.

When i was pg before i had mc 14 years ago i ballooned quite early on, i couldn't fit in any jeans after 6/7 weeks. At moment my jeans are the next size up as i lost a lot of weight before the wedding and have to wear a belt

Usually maternity clothes should be bought in whatever your pre-pregnancy size was. Some ladies don't bother with maternity clothes and just buy bigger size clothes, I like buying maternity clothes that are still a size 12 and fit me though ;o)

Like normal though sizes can vary, places that are good on sizes with maternity clothes that I know of are Next, Mothercare, New Look, Blooming marvellous, ASOS.

I got most of mine from next (mainly outlet, half the price) or gap and new look. in gap, i got 1 pair of jeans a size 8 and the other a 12, you just have to try somethings on, but its your normal size the clothes streach with you. however sayng that i got a work blouse size 12 from next, and that only lasted till i was 7months. Try them one at home,its easier and you can always take them back.

Hi lampiekat - we've also got a wedding in August and I'll be 29 weeks! I'm more concerned about my bosses wedding which is a few days after I'm 12 weeks. I've just realised that I might need a maternity outfit plus I may not be able to eat some of the food! Not sure when to tell her??x

I live near Leeds and was really disappointed at the weekend to find out that both the Next and M&S stores there don't stock maternity clothes, you have to go to Meadowhall or Trafford Center to get them.

It really spoiled what I thought was going to be lovely shopping trip with hubby. Thought it pretty short sighted of them as it's not like Leeds is a small city, and even Dotty P's in my local town has a couple of rails of maternity stuff.

So far the my savior is New Look! x

My local Next - which is a big store in Tamworth (retail park) don;t stock mat clothes in store.. Not sure about the bullring in Brum.. but I ahve done most of mine on line (apart from New Look!!)
