Subject: Petticoat Question.....
I've just ordered my gorgeous dress and a jacket. I didn't order a petticoat on the same day as I was sure I could probably get one a little less expensive elsewhere (having just agreed to £1000 for the dress and bolero). Can anyone recommend somewhere to find underskirts online and whether I should have hooped or hoopless?

This is my dress. I've copied and pasted shortcut to the pic. Hope it works!

I think you should go for a hooped one, not sure what kind though. Lovely dress by the way x x

Thank you! I can't wait to wear it! I was worried about the practicalities of wearing a hoop, having never tried one on. I have visions of me sitting in the church and my hoop flying up and exposing all to the congregation

Im not a girly girl at all and if Im honest I am not looking forward to the whole dress wearing experience but its my big day and h2b cant wait to see me in my dress. When I started shopping I was fairly sure I didnt want to wear a hoop as it would make my dress look more like toilet roll holder Anyway in one of the shops I visited they made me put one on and I couldnt believe the difference, it makes things so much easier as your legs are completly free from the dress. You dont have to have it so it makes the dress huge but it just makes life easy. I am now completly reformed and 100% sure that I am having a hooped undrskirt, also I have seen some where you can actually remove the hoops. Have a look on ebay also there are lots of threads on here about which kinds suits which dresses.

I got mine from ebay it's an extra large with two removable hoops for £25.00 inc delivery and I haven't stopped swishing in it lol!
I have had more fun in my petticoat than my dress sad I know but I had a giggle!
My H2B asked what it was and when I told him he said blumin' hell how big is your dress

I also got my petticoat from ebay - it's not as nice as the ones they had in the dress shop but they wanted £50 to hire the petticoat and £100 to buy it - just not in our budget. Mine cost £24.99 and £3.99 p&p.

My petticoat is 3 layers of netting with a layer between my legs and the netting for comfort - although the material this is made from is a bit like the material waterproof jackets are made from! My dress shop advised getting a petticoat with 3 layers of net and one hoop which I could not find anywhere but when I phoned them back they said get the 3 layers of net and they'd give me a hoop to attach to it with a ribbon, which is great.

H2B had loads of fun watching me swish around in said petticoat and is very intrigued now as to how big my dress is! I was a self-confessed meringue hater until I tried it on!

Getting a petticoat really does make a difference to the dress and I would certainly recommend it - it all adds to the occasion! I can't wait!
