Hi, i havent booked my wedding through Thomas Cook but i have been on holiday with them in the past and had no end of problems! Grrrr

I agree with Butterfly Robin, im booking my wedding direct with the hotel and then getting flights....cuts out the "middle man" so to speak and any risk of complications through having a chain!

Hi Dani.
We have booked the deluxe wedding package through Thomas Cook, & at first I hardly had any communication from them & felt I had made a mistake. But I then managed to get hold of an e-mail address of one of the Cyprus co-ordinators & I've had a lot of co-operation from them & they always reply within 1-2 days to any queries I have had. I have also travelled with them in the past & never had any trouble with them. I'll have to wait until August to find out if they are any good with their weddings though:D

Hi, We've booked the deluxe wedding package also, we go to cyprus in 12 weeks time. I was just wondering if you could forward me the email address you have used to contact the wedding co-ordinator? We have had no communication from them, and like i said, we go in 12 weeks!!!!!
Thank you!

Not at all Dani. We're getting married in Peyia Town Hall in August. I work in education so my holidays are always at their most expensive. It all depends on what sort of holiday package you are after - hotel/BB/villa/appartment etc. which then reflects on what sort of price you will be paying on top of the wedding package. Our holiday is the top end of the market.

I have booked with Thomas Cook and also had hardly any communication , we have booked our wedding through Olympic Weddings via Thomas Cook and have been emailing their wedding coordinator regularly and she has been brilliant. I am flying out to Cyprus in just under 2 weeks and get married in 23 days so I can let you all know how it went!

Hi all,

I have booked with Thomas Cook, only because my sister is a holiday rep for them. I haven't got any information from them but I email the Hotel direct and they told me the date (24th Aug 2010) in the afternoon. I have email them today to see if they know the time of our wedding.

My sister is out in Cyprus (Paphos) this summer so I am going to get her to sort out some things for me.

I am getting married in Greece next June in Santorini and initially was going to book through Thomas Cook. However when we went to see someone to book they said they wouldn't be able to tell us the time of our wedding until we got there and possibly not even the exact date!
As we wanted a sunset wedding we decided to book directly with a wedding planner who lives in Santorini.

We were concerned at first with dealing with someone over e-mails but so far so good!

(I spent hours trawling through forums and various websites to find the best planner but it was worth it.)

I would either try doing booking it all yourself, (which can be difficult depending on where you decide to marry) or hire a wedding planner.

Totally agree with Butterfly Robin. I had the same experience, not with Thomas Cook but another wedding planner, I don't want to mention any names. Basically, apart from the fact that she took forever to get back to me making me on edge for days, she literally tried to force me to take everything she said I reckon so she could get her commission. I ended up doing it all myself. My wedding photographer Christina Savvouri also has loads of information on her site http://www.christinasavvouri.com/CyprusWeddingDirectory.html which I referred to about one million times and really helped.
