Subject: Help with hen weekend in Edinburgh please?
Hi ladies,

we're all set for my hen weekend in Edinburgh in May. We're staying at the Travelodge haymarket but have nothing else planned. I had thought maybe the partybus? And i have been to the 3 sisters before and it was fun.

Can anyone suggest some things to do and somw places to go for activities, food, drinks etc. We don't have a great deal of money to spend but want to party all weekend!!

Any help is appreciated.

I am doing a dirty dancing dance lesson in Edinburgh. If you have at least 16 people it works out at £18 a head. Its a dance lesson learning the moves from the film and lasts 2 hours.

You get other kinds of things, Grease dancing, Bollywood, Belly Dancing, Burlesque,
Chocolate making, cocktail making.... have a wee look.

Hi!

I planned my SILs hen weekend in Edinburgh, so here are a few of the things we did and looked at:
If you want some pampering/beauty stuff, we booked into PURE beauty/spa place on Lothian Rd (there were about 16 of us), and we each had something done for around the £20 mark I think.
Also, why don't you look at what is on at the Playhouse at the time - we went to a really cheesy matinee on the Saturday (I can't remember what it was, but was actually wedding related!), then went for dinner and drinks!
In town, around George street has a good selection of eateries and bars and clubs. For during the day, I would also suggest Eteaket on Frederick street for yummy afternoon tea - gorgeous treats, and under a tenner each!

Hope that helps some!

Hi,

Do a ghost tour- there are quite a few to choose from but one i remember is St Marys close. You can do these tours at night.

We did some pole dancing lessons at CC Blooms which was really fun.

I agree with Dr Lynne, hit George Street for bars and restaurants.

Party bus is good when is packed full of people. We were told no alcohol but as long as its in plastic bottles its fine. Party bus can arrange a stripper on board as well!!

Mary King's Close is really good!

Les Miserables is on at the Playhouse in May.

Cocktails at Le Monde on George Street or table service drinks at The Dome

Chop Chop chinese restaurant near Haymarket is good for groups and not too expensive. They featured on Gordon Ramsay's programme recently! I also love Pancho Villas Mexican on the High Street (best to book at weekends).

The Jamhouse is good for a boogie for all ages and they have a live band on Saturday nights. Free entry before 10pm.

We're going to Edinburgh for my hen night. We're travelling up in the afternoon and checking into the Premier Inn at Haymarket. We're then going to do a Grease party from Polestars which is the same company as Lyn_M has booked with. Most places charge between £30 and £35 but Polestars are around £18 per head. The one we're doing teaches you the dances to Grease and they even supply you with the pink ladies jackets. We've then booked into Frankensteins for their hen night meal package which is a 3 course meal and drink for £19.95 per head. We're just going to finish the night there. There's 29 of us altogether. x

I just had my hen weekend nr Edinburgh last weekend and on the fri night we went into Edinburgh.

We started with dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe then went to Electric Circus where we had a massive private karaoke room for 2 hours, which was fantastic, then just stayed in the club there afterwards. There were 22 of us.

I live in Edinburgh and depending on money GEorge Street is nice but if you spend all night there (esp going to a club) it can cost, the Grassmarket (where 3 sisters is) is good for stag/hen dos and a good laugh.

Hope this helps on drink part??!

Karaoke at Electric Circus is a good option - you can book a booth in advance. For something to do during the day before you start on the alcohol check out Eteaket - it's a speciality tea cafe and you can go and have afternoon tea - lots of nice cakes. Also I'd agree with the comment that the Jam House is a good place to go if you have a mixture of ages - mums should be happy there as it's not too nightcluby but still good fun.

I went to a fab hen weekend in Edinburgh last year. We had a belly dancing class in the afternoon, then went to a chocolate tasting class in the evening, a few cocktails, then dinner and Le Monde nightclub. Had a brilliant time.
If it was me, I'd definitely do the ghost tour - I've always wanted to do it but never have xx

We had a great hen night doing a salsa class and then went for some Spanish tapas...it was great fun. It goes for around £35pp. You can find more details at

http://www.hen-party-edinburgh.co.uk

....just make sure that you get a latino salsa teacher.

Hope this helps.
