Right girlies...

This is the story, My real dad and my mum split up when i was 2. And Both re-married.

Well my mum's new fella has been there as a dad for the past 19 years of my life. And i count him just
as much of my dad as my real dad.

And ive asked them both to give me away, My step-dad was fine with this and said he'd be honoured, my real dad said he'd just stand there if it was awkward. Now i dont want to upset anybodys feelings.

I asked them both to give me away as i love them both to pieces.

But kind of feel that i may have done?

It is your day and to be honest they should be doing what will make you happy. Sounds from your post that your step dad is delighted. Yes your real dad may be slightly taken aback by you wanting another man to accompany you down the aisle but he is your dad and loves you so I am sure he will be fine!

Hope it all works out well hun

I understand you don't want to hurt anyone MrsHarker, but at the end of the day you are still you real dad's little girl and I am sure he will get passed it.

I am sure he would rather be one of two people who give you away than not give you away at all. Just say to him that you cant imagine either him or your step dad not being there with you on the day. I am sure your dad will understand that your step dad has been as good as a real dad to you since you were young and this is your way of acknowledging that.

Tell your Dad how you feel. Dad's are generally ace and if he like mine he will give you a big hug when you say you dont want to upset anyone - and just tell you to stop being silly

Hope this helps

Ive just spoken to my mum, and she said my dad is very traditional with stuff. And that she'd have a word with both of them. Thank god for mum's! x

Tell me about it! Pacifiers by nature I guess. Not just mums but women in general

Hope she talks him round although I am sure it will be fine - he will just want to make sure you are happy!

Getting married in 2011 too - 11th June. We are getting married at Balbirnie House Hotel, Fife. Cannot wait to be honest! Got the big things booked and have an appointment to try on a couple of dresses I like in 2 weeks! Too exciting!

Where are you thinking for a venue?

Just had a look at your dress - it is gorgeous! Cant wait to try on the one I like. It is one from the Atelier Diagonal collection from Pronovias. It is a 2010 collection so not found any pics online of it which is annoying! I saw the dress at a wedding show and loved it.

Your venue looks lovely too - you should just go for it and get booked up! If I had my dress already I would be wanting a 2010 wedding if I could afford it in that time!

How is the walking down the aisle thing going?
