Anyone here a smoker before they found they were pg?

How did you cope at stopping?

Was it a big give away that you were pg as you stopped? I was telling people today that i'd gone off them!! Not sure if that's got anyone talking or not!!

Ok, I am not a smoker, but I just wanted to give you a big pat on the back for quitting, you know its whats best for you and baby and you never know, it may stick eh?

Do you want people to know yet? Saying you have gone off them is a bit of a give away if you are usually a regular smoker and all of a sudden you have gone off them, usually its because you are PG right? Could just say you have decided you want to give up for a healthier lifestyle? Just a suggestion but obviously I don't know you or how much smoking was part of your life.

Make sure if you do find you are struggling speak to your midwife eh, its all very well everyone saying it better for you and baby (including me saying that) but I can understand it is addictive and not that easy to just pack up.

Anyway, I mainly wanted to say good on your girl ;o)

I used to smoke about 10-15 a day and decided to quit before I got preggers. I knew I had to quit at some point so thought I might as well do it before I actually got preggers.

It's quite hard isnt it?! well done on getting this far, I've found having a growing baby inside me is motivation enough not to cave although I got very stressed last week and reallly wanted a sneaky ciggy!

People were suspicious when I quit but I just kept saying I did it for a healthier lifestyle and to save some money. No-one has really clicked.

Good luck and i'm sure you will be fine, how long have you quit for now? I found the first couple weeks were the hardest xx

im not pregnant or ttc, but gave up when i found out i was pregnant with my kids. i found it quite easy,i had the image of my babies to keep me going,that said i started again as soon as the night feeds stopped,grr!

just given up again with the aid of patches,on day 4 at the moment,good luck with the quitting!

I used to be a smoker up until 2 mths ago when i found out i was pregnant. I always knew i would give up as soon as i found out i was pregnant.

Ive found it quite hard at times really needing one. But i have just stood near my OH whiles hes been having one and had a sniff.

I found out i was pg on Sunday so stopped then. I was a bit of a strange smoker as in i only smoked at work or if i was driving long distances - couldn't ever be bothered to go outside to smoke at home so never smoked at all.

I wish i had just said i'd given up rather than gone off them but at the time "on the spot" that was the first thing that came in to my head!!!

It will seem a bit strange that on Saturday i was smoking as normal and then Monday i've stopped (had a day off on Sunday), we'll see what happens. The people who need to know know due to H&S at work.

I'm finding it ok at mo, the test will be tomorrow at work esp as i'm on an 11.30pm-5.30am shift!!!

I smoked for 17 years, but stopped as soon as I found out I was pg last month. Hasn't bothered me at all and thought of smoking makes me feel a bit queasy.
