Subject: Wedding Dress Nerves!
Hello

I'm new to all this and only joined today, but can I just say "thank you so much" for this post!

I cant tell you how much you have all made feel so much less nervous, and more confident about going to find my wedding dress.

I am getting married in August this year, and so far, have been petrified to even go and try any dresses on, I keep putting it off and putting it off, as I just cant imagine myself looking anything but a big frump!

I have had a quick look at some of your pics on here, and you all look so stunning and amazing!

So thanks again, you dont know how much you have all helped me!

Hiya
I felt a LOT like that when we got engaged and the derss part was the thing I was most worried about... people around me kept suggesting different dress shops and all I'm thinking is "yes, but I bet they don't do my size!".
BUT...... you will be surprised about how many shops do actually cater for the bigger bride these days. I was amazed when I finally got the courage to book my first appointment to try a dress or two on. And I was also lucky enough to find a dress shop that was just for the plus-size bride - it was heaven!!!
Do a bit of research and find the designers who make for the bigger bride (Mori Lee, Alfred Angelo, Bonny, Sonsie from Veromia to name a few). Once you've put that first dress on you will soon realise that you will be a beautiful bride and you'll see the styles that are most flattering. I felt like a princess when I found "the dress" and I cannot wait to put it back on again!!!!!!
Best of luck - happy dress hunting!

Blees you I know just how you feel, I went for my first trying on session last week and to say I was dreading it would be an understatement!!! I even shouted at my best friend, but it is the best feeling when you put a dress on and for the 1st time in your life someone says " what a wonderfull hour glass figure you have"!! wedding dress's do wonders for you, wish i could wear one every day!
I went to "About a bride" last week and the people in there are truely amazing, so friendly.
I think I found my dress too, but I am off to 2nd shop to check Im not missing out!!
Best of luck, you'll fell a million dollars

Thanks so much Jen & Lids x
So basically then, I gotta make that first step, then after that, i'll be hooked! Think my friends & family cant make me out....there all so excited about coming dress hunting with me but I dont think they quite understand how much I am dreading it!. I've sorted all my bridesmaids out, and they all look stunning. Well i'll take both your words for it, and make that big step! I cant put it off for any longer...I can do this!
Thanks for your encouraging words xxxx

Maiseymo, well I went for my 2nd shop experience today!! Have to say not as good as my 1st, It was so bloody hot thought I was going to pass out! And the dress's were not as good as the 1st place, so you really do need to bite the bullet and try a few!

One tip I would say, a veil really gives you a dreamy look!!

Love liddy x

So you didnt find anything you fancied there then? You going back to the first shop then, as you said before you found one you liked? Friends of mine have said that they have always gone back to the first place they started. Do you have any pics of the one you liked - would love to see it! I'm in 2 minds about a veil - we are only having a civil ceremony at an hotel. I'm just worried that a veil would look too over the top?
