Please recommend a south wales florist and musician

Hi Ladies,

Im getting married in South Wales (Crickhowell nr Abergavenny) but I am planning my wedding from Yorkshire (where we currently live). Was just wondering if you could recommend any florists in the abergavenny, usk, crickhowell, monmouth type area. Florists are next on my list!!

Also im toying with the idea for musicians for the ceremony. We looked into string quartet's but they were so expensive. Can anyone recommend perhaps a guitarist, pianist, string quartet, soloist etc who is quite reasonably priced?

Hi,

I've heard that Love Lily in Abergavenny is very good, but I haven't had a consultation with them. I would highly recommend The Bee Orchid. I found them very reasonable and the florist, Claire, is fantastic - she gives you so many ideas and is so passionate about what she does! The only thing is, The Bee Orchid is in Bridgend so I'm not sure how much delivery would be. With regards to a String trio/quartet, I have booked the Bryden string quartet - I found them by far the most reasonable! Good luck with your planning!

Hiya,
I found flowers by jo very helpful, im getting msrried this year and went to have a chat with them. They spent ages chatting with me to make sure we got exactly what i wanted. They were very reasonable too. They are based in Bridgend as well I have no idea how far away you are but it cant hurt to ask? They seemed so helpful, i am sure they can do something for you...

Love Lily arrangements look lovely, we are using Upmarket Flowers in Usk, as we are getting married there.

It depends what type of music you are referring to. We are having a harpist called Kathryn Rees for the afternoon tea, she has a website and I have spoken to her a few times and she is lovely.

If you mean bands, does your venue have a band they regularly use? If not my friends husband is part of the regular band for Cwrt Bleddyn, so I can forward on their contact details if you need them.

Have been into magic moments but not try anything on, well not yet anyway!!

Hi RhiMa, Deacon's in Chepstow are very good florists, they did our wedding in January and as well as being nice people the flowers were beautiful!

Not sure about florists in that area, but you could try contacting Cardiff University music department (I went there woo!) or the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama - there may be some student ensembles who could do it and they'd be cheaper than a professional ensemble. They're all very talented by that stage so don't worry about them not sounding good! My friend also has a music agency with a range of musicians - classical, jazz, DJs, rock/pop bands etc. The website is www.southwalesmusic.co.uk

I have booked Alison Bentley. She works in a lot of places in Wales and as soon as I took a picture of my dress to her she instantly knew what my theme was and wowed me with the type of flowers she recommended. She works in Cardiff and she also did the flowers to Jahn Barrowman's civil partnership xxx

I've booked Buttercup flowers. They are absolutely lovely, cant do enough for you and work to any budget. Krerry talked through everything with me and showed me actual samples of flowers, vases, arrangements etc instead of just a photo. I would DEFINITELY recommend her! The best florist i;ve seen by far !
