Subject: *UPDATED*....first weigh in, with 89 days to go....
I'm really nowhere near the weight I wanted to be! I'm so disappointed with myself and don't have much time left now. I've always been rubbish at dieting as I am rubbish at planning ahead and working out plans. I've been trawling through the weight loss support this week looking for a miracle cure, but have realised that unfortunately they don't exist. I'm so disappointed with myself and I've realised I need to just try my best for the next 13 weeks and hopefully I'll get somewhere close to where I want to be.

On my shopping trip today I found that all the Slim Fast stuff was on special offer and have read a few things about this plan on this forum (that's is simple, low maintenance and you don't feel hungry and can lose about 2lb a week with exercise), so I decided to go for it. I've decided to write down my experience in the run up to the wedding in the hope that it will keep me going and hopeful inspire others.

I'll be weighing myself tomorrow morning and starting the plan from then so will put my starting weight on then. I'm looking forward to the challenge and hoping that I can see some good changes in 13 weeks. The Wii is all set up ready to go, and I've even dusted down our cross trainer. ;\)

hey i hope the slimfast works, i tried it for a week before i went on hol last year but made no diff and as you only get to have milkshakes for lunch etc i felt starving all the time!! I am trying to lose weight for my wedding, got about 12lbs to go to get to my goal but for the past few weeks nothings changed i really need to kick myself up the a*se and get myself motivated! You sound a bit like me, even though i really know i want to do it actually doing it still manages to elude me!! i'd probably recommend cutting out all junk foods and other crap like that - especially fizzy pop (even diet ones) as i know several girls who want to lose weight and moan that they can't but hten they are grabbing for fizzy cans all the time and its clearly the reason they're not losing anything! (not that you necessarily drink fizzy pop, just went off on one there!) I found just sticking to a really healthy eating routine during the week with a meal out or some sort of treat meal on the weekend helped me lose the 12lbs iv done since the start of the year, just need to get back on it! Just reading the ingredients on slim fast and it has lots of sugar in it

I wish I knew what I know now back when I did slimfast it's crap and has nothing in it that will help you lose weight other than the fact it is low in cals (but high in sugar that is gonna make you crave more sugar and put on weight)

Good luck in losing weight but dont let it affect your health x

Well I started today and weighed in at 12st 9.2lbs. First shake gone down well. I know some people have had different experiences on this, but I'm willing to give it a try. I will be working out at the gym and doing exercise every night aswell, I'm just hoping that the structure Slim Fast gives me will keep me on track.

In an ideal world I would like to be 11st 8lbs when I go to try my dress on at the end of March/start of April (when bridesmaid dresses are in), as I will then be 1st lighter than when I last tried it on. To be honest as long as I get out the 12st somethings by the end of the month I'll be happy!

Feeling very focused today - but it is only day 1! The one thing I like about it so far is that you know exactly how many calories you are eating, so when I'm exercising that will be a comparison for me - hopefully keep me motivated!;\)

So first day over with and I have to say it's been fine. The shakes were nice and curbed the sweet craving that I normally have all day, I have had 2 snacks of less than 100 cals and then my tea. I wasn't sure whether I had to count the calories of my veg as part of the 600 cal allowance for my meal so I didn't bother (counted calories for potatoes, but not carrots or green beans). Not sure if that's right or not so will have to try and find out. I can still have another snack before I go to bed, but to be honest I'm pretty full and think I'll leave it.

Exercise wise I walked the dog for 20 mins and then went on my cross trainer for 30 mins - so have burnt about 400 cals today which isn't too bad.

Fingers cross things keep going well! ;\) Only 6 more days to my first weigh in....

Just thought I'd give an update on my week so far in case anyone is thinking of trying Slim Fast. I had a bit of a sneaky weigh in this morning and am really pleased - looks like I have lost over 4lbs in 3 days. I'm not gonna update my weight tracker yet as I don't officially weigh till Monday morning - but I'm hoping that I may lose half a stone by Monday. Been working out on my cross trainer and walking the dog, also making sure I drink 2 litres of water a day, and things seem to be going great. Can honestly say I haven't felt tempted to cheat, and am really pleased with myself. I've printed out a picture of myself at my last dress trying on session and keep it in my purse to keep me motivated!

Hope everyones weight loss is going well!

So first week over and done, and I LOST 5.2lbs!!!! So pleased, and I can honestly say it's the easiest 5 lbs I ever lost. Its the first time I can say I've not cheated for the whole week on a diet, and I haven't felt hungry once. I really like the shakes, and have found it so easy h2b is now doing to try and lose a few pounds before he suit fitting. My mom has also been on it for 2 weeks and has no lost 7lbs, so all good news from us!

My bridesmaids dresses arrived and I went to see them at the weekend and I think they are lovely. Organised our fitting dates, mine is on the 24th April, so now I have something to aim for. I'm gonna move my weigh day to Saturdays from this week, so I can count down the weeks to my fitting:

Starting Weight: 12st 9.2lbs
Loss: 5.2lbs
Weight Now: 12st 4lbs

wow well done!! i started the slim fast diet this morning had my shake and have my davina superfit dvd to do when the little ones go for a nap, i hope i do as well as you when i weigh in next monday!!! i find i am fine all week when h2b is working away though its when he comes come and orders a chinese and gets loads of munchies that i fail!

just wanted to say well done and hope it goes well for you this week xx

Thanks! I'm really pleased. Realistic that I won't lose 5 lbs every week but its a good start, although I'd love to lose just over 4 lbs as I would be 11 stone something then. Started at the wobble gym tonight as they reckon that you can lose a dress size in three weeks, but we'll see! Anything helps I suppose. Trying to get on my cross trainer 3 or 4 times a week and walk the dog every night aswell.

Well done hunni, you have inspired me to get back on the slim fast so first thing tomorrow i will start!!!!

When i have my morning shake i always have a cup of tea and a glass of water with it and it totally fills me up until about 2 when i have my next one!!

Great news to hear that it has inspired you! How much did you manage to lose before. I can't get over how easy it is! Although this week I'm not expecting a huge weight loss as the dready monthly is due and I feel totally bloated! Anyway, thinking I must have lost something it might just take till next week to show, as I've been going to the gym everyday, and a hardcore wobble gym - so that must add up.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

in total before i lost 11 lbs but im terrible and cant stick to anything properly, I have put about 5 lbs back on but luckily it dont show!!

I did 50 sit ups 2 nights ago and then last night did half hour running on the wii!
Done lots of house work too, gotta do something to distract me from food lol!!

First weigh in for me is next friday, day before my hen night so whatever i lose i will probably put on over that weekend lol!!
